  1. I can't log in. It says the password doesn't match their records. I typed it in properly. Tried several times.
  2. Here's mine. I did not plan this...however, Jack (sometimes known as his alter ego...Jackass) has decided that it is fun to climb the tree. At least my other cat just chews on the branches. I will have to post some pics of my good kitty soon. Don't want to play favorites. It's just that the kitten is into photo ops.
  3. to the forum! You will find so much info on here that you won't be able to stop looking! Have fun planning. Just let us know what you need. Some of the girls on here can find anything and post pics within the hour. Amazing!
  4. I agree. If you haven't looked at it in years, for the most part, you don't need to keep it. My FI (and his family) are pack rats. At least the stuff his dad "collects" has value...antique furniture and clocks and anything else you can imagine. I managed to get my FI's junk amount down to 2 rooms (before I moved in...BC as I like to call it, he had 4 rooms filled with junk). He has 6 old computers, 2 guitars (and he doesn't even play guitar), boxes of stuff from 6 yrs ago from when he moved somewhere else. No thank you. I just keep choosing different rooms to redo and make him go through stuff and get rid of it. 2 more rooms to go. Then I have to deal with his basement issue...he keeps the cardboard boxes from packages...in case he needs them. I'll win! So, long story short. You'll feel much better having the extra space for things that you do need to keep.
  5. I am pretty sure that at Gran Bahia your reception is part of the wedding package (around $1500) and counts as one of the ala carte meals for your guests. You will have to pay alittle bit more for a larger cake and for more champagne for the after ceremony toast. It does cost more if you do a poolside reception. We are just going to use one of the restaurants. People can go poolside on their own the rest of the week.
  6. Here are my babies! Cali is 6 and Jack is 5 months (maybe?). They sort of get along. Mostly the problem that Jack (nicknamed Jackass) is always playing too rough for my delicate Cali and won't leave her alone. She wouldn't mind cuddling with him if he would settle down. Maybe next year!
  7. I agree. That dress looks gorgeous on you. I am waiting until Feb. to go dress shopping (not that I haven't looked online) so I love seeing all the pics on here. Get my dress fix.
  8. Welcome! A lot of the AI resorts include a reception in with the wedding package. Riviera Maya weddings - Wedding planners and wedding coordinators organize beach ceremonies and packages in Riviera Maya This site has a list of hotels and their wedding packages (2007 prices though). It should tell you what is included. Have fun planning.
  9. Okay, we decided. For our travel mugs we are using the one with the palm trees. The mugs are going to be blue (I think) and the logo will be in white. My stepsister is currently working at a company that sells promotional items and is getting us a great price. $2.10 for mugs that the company has listed for $6 on their site. She quoted me $148 for 60 mugs...but we decided to get 90 to be on safe side. She will be quitting this job soon to start nursing school Glad that is at least done. We might try to make stickers (color version) of the palm tree logo for our favor bags. And I am going to try and work the monkey in somewhere.
  10. The deposit is 100% refundable for 120 days. But I basically have $2,000 sitting on my credit card. I've been calling people to let them know that space is limited. Once the charter is full, they will be on regular air and that will probably cost more. I'd rather just have people commit one way or another. Most of my important people are booking this week. Some are still trying to decide if they are going for 3 night or 7 night package.

  12. How about "Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel" by Tavares? I'm going to have to make a cd for sure now. I would like have "Til There Was You" Beatles version playing right before the bridal march...if not during. Might stay traditional there. This is a fun thread!
  13. Welcome to the forum! You'll find a ton of info about Los Cabos! Have fun with your planning!
  14. So, for an update... My TA called back and told me there are only 48 seats left on the charter for our departure date. WHAT?! So after a mini freak out...I put down the deposit to hold the rest of the seats. $50 pp on my credit card. So, I guess I will have to start nagging people to commit and put at least the $50 part down.
  15. We are considering walking back down the aisle (after the ceremony) to Huey Lewis & the News "Stuck with You"! How's that for cheese factor?! I haven't listened to the whole song in probably a decade. I will have to check out the rest of the lyrics.
  16. Congratulations! Glad to hear that everything went perfectly!
  17. Congratulations and welcome to the forum!
  18. Welcome to the forum! You'll be addicted to it soon!
  19. Hi all, I am trying to figure out when to have people make their deposits. We are going to book through Apple (using a TA) as a group. The date of the trip is Nov 6-13, 2008. The deposit is $125 pp plus insurance. The TA was going to call Apple and check on some things, hasn't called back yet (granted it has only been an hour, I'm just impatient). Apple is running their charters like regular airlines do now. There are only so many seats in each fare category and then it goes to next category with higher rate. So, I want to book our trip now (and my family is ready too) to lock in at the current rate and be done with the whole deposit deal. I'm not sure if there is a time limit for people to book once we book for the group reservation. We are blocking off 50 spots but not sure who is going and for how long. Also, not all of our guests are coming from Pittsburgh. Is it too soon to have people book? Is it too close to the holidays for people to spend the deposit money? Thoughts, ideas? Help.

I hope we don't chicken out. That video was great. Definitely sets a fun tone. I could only get my FI to do it if he had a decent amount of alcohol in his system.
  21. Ours is going to be "Then you can tell me goodbye" sung by Neal McCoy. The lyrics are pretty.

I just want to have them for the ceremony and maybe cocktail hour but I only want to pay for an hour...so who knows....I must sound like a total cheapskate My FI and I are planning on going with the mariachis for our wedding for a couple reasons. 1: I like the festive, almost cheesy atmosphere they provide and I love mariachi music. 2: It is so traditionally mexican. 3: My sister did guitar trio at her wedding and I don't want to repeat. (Bad enough that we are twins and I'm also having a destination wedding in Riviera Maya, but I lived there for a semester in college and have emotional attachment to Mexico.) Mariachi is pricier but I told my FI I would just pick up an overtime shift and that's that!
  23. That's great! You look fabulous! Hopefully this will inspire me to get my behind off the couch a little more. I will probably procrastinate since I have a year. But I'm making myself lose 5 lbs before I go try on dresses. I'd like to lose 10lb total and get some muscle. What all have you been doing? Looks like it is working!
