  1. I think you should take Moon Palace off the list because it is not close to the hotel strip, per your note. Since being on the beach is so important to you, let me recommend you also consider the Hyatt Cancun Caribe Resort. Not as popular as those that you've listed, but the property has one of the better beaches in Cancun. A lot of the properties lost most of their beach after Wilma, but this property still has a pretty nice one. I will be able to give you a better assessment after I get married there on May 3rd. I will be getting married on their terrace, but will take plenty of pictures and give a full review when I return. Good luck!!
  2. I picked early May because I think its the right time of year. We tried to avoid spring break and have the wedding BEFORE college graduations. Of course we wanted to stay away from hurricane season as well. With an outdoor wedding, there is always the possibility of rain (no matter where you get married). Just make sure your venue has a back up plan.
  3. I've heard good things about Le Meridian so hopefully you will have a great wedding there! I am having mine at Hyatt and it is not an all-inclusive and we are doing things somewhat a-la cart. Still worked an inclusive meal/drink plan for my guests. They've been very helpful allowing me great flexibility.
  4. I'm getting married at 5pm. Figured it would still leave enough sun for the photos. I also double checked with the photographer. Another suggestion, check the farmer's almanac. It should tell you the projected weather and time for sunset on any given date.
  5. I just did a Boudoir session with Tait Photography. It was very comfortable and I find their work to be very tasteful. The photographer travels a lot and she has done dates in Canada. May want to keep an eye on her website to see when she'll be back! Good luck. Tait Boudoir Photography
  6. Hi Betsy, Unfortunately, I couldn't find these at my Target, but I'd love to find them. Can you please tell me which Target you found them at and I'll see if maybe they would ship them to me if I call them directly. Any help you could provide a fellow bride would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Cheryl
  7. I'm going to buy different Cancun postcards when I get there and include 2 in each bag. One of them will be addressed to me so they can share how they're enjoying the trip and we will be able to read them when we get back home. Just a thought.
  8. You looked lovely in the first one!! Double check to see if its your friends. If not, you may want to consider it. Very figure flattering. Gotta love rouching ;-)
  9. So for those that asked what it is, its where Filene's Basement has a bunch of designer dresses that they sell for price points of $700 or less, but they are worth thousands! You line up and when they open the door everyone runs in and justs grabs. BUT, after about 20 minutes a good number of the dresses are back on the racks and women are walking around trading sizes and styles. A lot of women had success and you know because you'd hear bursts of cheering and clapping which meant someone had found their dress. Unfortunately, I just was not one of those ladies today. As for bridezillas, there were a few, and some of the mothers of the brides were even worst, but overall it was a fine experience. THE DRESS I'M LOOKING FOR...when I say fit and flare or drop waste, I mean it has a longer toro and is fitted all the way to the middle of the hip (as oppossed to stopping at the waist). I like this style because it shows my figure just enough. I would like a moderate A line skirt (not too poofy). So the good thing is, I know what I want, but the challenge is, I haven't found it just yet ;-) Let me know if you have suggestions.
  10. Hello Ladies, I did the running of the brides today. I got up at 3AM to take the train from DC to NJ to participate. I was on-line by 7am and was one of the first 100 to get inside. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the dress of my dreams. I am glad to be able to say I had the experience, but I just didn't find the "it" dress that made me say 'wow'. There were plenty to choose from in all sizes, but since I know exactly what I'm looking for (drop waist/fit & flare, strapless, with some beadazzlement) So, my search continues. If you have any ideas, please feel free to provide desginer and style numbers!
  11. These look so nice!!! I'm going to reach out to get an estimate. Keep us posted on what you decide to fill them with.
  12. Very nice! Love the fall colors (browns, oranges). Looks like a beautiful time was had by all.
  13. Thanks, this information will be very helpful since we're only getting the images on CD with our photo package.
  14. I meant to say, I couldn't AGREE MORE with the comments shared by most. My fingers were typing too fast!
  15. I couldn't agree with the comments shared by most. My mom wasn't to big on the idea of a DW at all, let alone an AI. It seems they have the traditional weddings in their minds and its hard to convert them. Have you had any luck convincing her that its a good idea? Once I compared what we were spending for the DW vs. having it at home, she understood very quickly ;-) Of course they all say its going to cut down on the people that can attend and the gifts you receive. And I just tell her, YES, and we're ok with that, so she should be too ;-) Good luck.
