  1. We're looking for the canvas bags with a gusset and pockets but I don't see that on the link you sent. Sorry! Maybe I'm not looking in the right page?
  2. oh the chocolate from Trader Joes is a good idea - would that be crazy to put 3 or 4 in little cellophane bags with a ribbon and a sticker with our log on it? Would they get smushed on the way down? - I don't think I'll have time to do 75 bags in Mexico...ugh!
  3. thanks for the turquoise - i'll have to try printing on monday at work to see what the colors will actually look like. then i may need to use your donate button if mine suck
  4. yeah me too (knowing what i want finally!) - unfortunately it seems like shipping is by weight, so i fear we'll be paying shipping 2x - so unless they drop the price significantly, i don't know if it is worth it? i don't know!
  5. Does anyone know what color turquoise ( in RGB format #s) Sarah used in the first monogram of the green starfish with turquoise lettering? I'm having the hardest time finding a good turquoise!
  6. The best would be for them to give us a specific code for a BDW bulk order that we could input ourselves and each person could order their own. (to make it easier to calculate shipping/tax)
  7. Sounds worth it to me - maybe we can get them down to $350? Should we start a new thread - Dharma Bag 18" bulk order? Will it be a pain to organize the shipments? The store is located in San Francisco I think - I live in Venice, so they will charge tax if shipping to me since I'm in CA too. That's fine if we don't end up doing a bulk order, but if we do, we might decide it is better to ship it to somewhere close to California (for cheaper shipping charges) but outside of California (for no tax). Too confusing?
  8. Oh I am SO dumb - when you save in Publisher there is an option to save at 300 for Commercial printing or 150 for desktop printing (which is the default) - I just saw this - SORRY! Thanks for your help Morgan - I wouldn't have even known what I needed without you!
  9. Sarah - I asked on another thread, but just in case this is a better place - do you think Publisher has significantly lower resolution than Photoshop and Illustrator? If I made a logo but want it screenprinted, should I order something similar through you instead?
  10. Sarah - you said you can't get a hi-res image with Powerpoint - but do you know about Microsoft Publisher? If I use a font for the tree and go from there? I was going to have mine screenprinted and the guy said if I can't get an Illustrater or Photoshop image, then .jpg is not great but will have to do. Do you think it'll make a huge difference? Should I hire you to replicate my monogram in higher resolution (and maybe do it more perfectly)?
  11. Thank you - I'm so sorry I am useless right now - it is SO frustrating. I have my Los Angeles shower on Sunday and if I don't feel better and don't have a voice by then, I'll feel so bad for all involved!
  12. Sorry - I came down with laryngitis on Sunday after a week of coughing and I still don't have my voice - the doctor said it should hopefully return by this weekend. VERY FRUSTRATING b/c I can't make any calls - when people call they can't hear me and hang up. UGH! If someone else wants to call, I'd be ordering at least 75 bags, and from what I can tell, we'd be just under 150, which is more than 2x their 60+ category of price, so maybe they'd be willing to go lower. Otherwise I'll try when I get my voice back.
  13. So you may have seen my dress before: After being a bridesmaid, I swore I was going to find some beautiful wear-again unique interesting dresses for mine - but I haven't found anything I like under $400 that suits all body types. Now it is too late to order bridesmaid dresses and the regular store dresses are just pricey for good quality these days. So I'm leaning towards the JCrew option - letting them pick one of 3 dress styles in the fabric/color I choose (and we decided to buy them for them, which is another reason not to go for $400 dresses - since I have 5). I originally wanted red, (before searching high and low for turquoise), so I thought the Silk Tricotine Flame color dress would be really pretty, but I can't decide if it goes with my dress enough. The Silk Tricotine Espresso is a bit warmer than the Silk Chiffon Espresso, which is closer to black, but Chiffon is what my dress is made out of, which would carry it over a bit too. I'm at a loss. Is it good to have the same material as the bride, or does it take away from my specialness? Will the espresso be nice on the beach, or is the flame more unique and fun? And should I just ask my ushers (who will buy their own dress) to choose neutral coordinating dresses in turquoise/aqua? Sorry, feeling very indecisive lately .
  14. So maybe paying for my bridesmaids dresses & salon fees and groomsmen's shirts would be the thing to do instead of the trip (in addition to gifts)?
  15. My invites ended up being a lot more of a Caribbean greenish-blue (+ dark brown) than I thought I wanted My pashmina order is aqua (+ dark brown) My logo is probably going to be some blue in between Caribbean blue, aqua, and turquoise + dark brown or red My vases are going to be aquaish (I couldn't find turquoise) with red flowers My bridesmaid dresses were going to be red (JCrew Flame) but it doesn't look super with my dress which has lots of beige in it, and I gave up on finding turquoise, so it is looking like espresso (JCrew). So yeah, the whole finding the right blue thing is ridiculously difficult!
  16. I'm wondering what you guys put on the back of the postcards you include in your OOT bags? I was thinking of uploading a few photos to vistaprint and writing Riviera Maya, Mexico or something on the front of each, but I'm not sure what to put on the back - anything specific to our wedding, or just information about the area, or nothing at all?
  17. My videographer from Los Angeles offers the option but she was already so pricey to shoot in HD that I decided to cut out the 8mm option - not sure if that is a mistake, but I do agree that you can add the effect afterwards...
  18. Leia78 That makes sense - a friend of my mom just told me the centerpieces shouldn't be higher than 12 inches - so you are perfect. If I weren't getting the turquoise vases, I might have tried to drown the antorcha instead - such a cool look! I am leaning twds three 8x2 vases with 2 stems of antorchas each, with little voltive candles scattered around the vases. The WC said I'd only have about 14 inches of space on the the table for the centerpiece area.
  19. But if I am having 3 vases - will 3 short wide vases look weird? Man, I need to buy some and try it out I guess
  20. Sorry to bother you all about such a small details, but... Flores Julieta in Cancun was able to find turquoise cylinder vases for me!! - My plan is to have 3 of them in equal size on each round table, filled with antorcha: Inspired by this: I'm trying to decide on a good size for the vases where the guests can still see over them but that they look like a real centerpice that is pretty and modern and cool, and not flimsy or cheap. I had thought 7 or 8 inches high by 3.5 inches wide - but I wanted your opinions if you can spare the time. Would they be prettier narrower or wider? Or slightly taller or shorter? Also, if my wedding coordinator agrees to it, I was thinking of having her wrap the napkins like this, but WITHOUT the sand dollars (unless I can mini-ones, too much work for her - unless I pre-do it somehow?) - Of course, picking a ribbon that matches the vases will be an interesting feat without seeing the vases in real life ha! How do you guys order ribbon online (I'm also planning on have sand-dollar with a ribbon and card with name on it for place cards, following through on my invitation theme (but with a blue that matches the vases), and the raffia hand fans with ribbon tied on the handles.)
