Disney was our number one destination choice as we are both huge fanatics. I was not overly impressed when I went for a site visit and met with the WC last September - it was going to cost us $40,000 for a 50-person wedding...

For me it depends on the difference in the quality. It is really important for me to have pics of the whole day - I would rather pay for someone good for the whole day then someone absolutely phenomenal for a few hours.. I guess if the two photogs being considered are both "good" then it's a no brainer.. -

The countdown is on LeShay - I cannot believe that people are still booking - that is crazy! Sometimes I think people just want to add to the stress! Becks - Interesting that Swank was willing to negotiate - I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place - I didn't get a good vibe from Swank in the beginning - and Carlos was really nice - I wonder what type of leverage I could use with Swank... How did your showers go LeShay? Get lots of nice goodies?

Clearly I don't have enough work to do.. LOL we saw that gazebo as well .. have to look and see if I have a pic -- would be an OK rain option although none of us will need to think about that option..

Hmmm.. I would say not more than 6-8 ppl - the thing with the Gazebo is that it isn't very private cause it is in the middle of the pool but a beautiful spot for pictures in the evening..

We are hoping to go down for labour day weekend (Aug 30th) to firm all this stuff up - not really into anything extensive for centrepieces... was thinking of something with sand, shells and perhaps a candle..

I just emailed him to ask about the insurance (assuming it's not a one time thing!) I also emailed Perla to confirm about the fees - she has been somewhat tardy on her responses so we'll see.. What are you doing about centrepieces? Did you decide or is that part of the site visit?

Katy welcome to the forum! We fell in love with the Paradisus when we saw it for the same reasons Becks mentioned - secluded and classy - my type of wedding resort! Becks - SOoo glad to hear about Carlos Mania - guess I should email Perla and get that in writing too before we try and make a deal. Glad to hear that this is working out - would it be OK if I referenced your dealings wiht him and the resort in my email?

Hopefully they will be better at responding - Perla has been really really slow lately - I would much prefer to use Mannia for DJ - keep me posted on the costs front - I am interested to hear whether they are going to charge the $300 fee in addition to the per hour rate...
