  1. Lizz, seeing your baby will be a great birthday present! Lisa, have you been having Braxton Hicks? I think I read somewhere that contractions feel like really bad cramps...I hope that is not happening to you. Are you still having them? Mo, my OB is the only doctor in his office, but my friend that just had a baby did the rotation thing and actually found a doctor she liked better w/in the office and is going to switch to her. ha!
  2. oh man! My appt is not until tomorrow! The appt card says Tues. the 29th, but tomorrow is the 30th, so I called hoping she checked the wrong day of the week, but she wrote down the wrong date. Poo. One more day.

I'm so behind on things, I just went to search for your wedding pics... but your photog's blog won't load. Gotta keep trying! Time does fly by! Seems like yesterday I was complaining that Noah was never going to get here and now it's right around the corner! I have had problems w/ our photographers blog too..I should mention that to her. We are seeing her this weekend to do our maternity session!
  4. I am so, so sorry. You don't HAVE to be strong....you are entitled to feel however you feel!
  5. oh man, Courtney! I saw you post in here and I thought you had some exciting news to share! Oh, I am so not painting the nursery! Well, I helped with the wall paint and the trim, but I do not have a creative bone in my body. He is the one drawing the sea creatures. He is doing it free hand. He is drawing it on with a pencil first then painting it. He is a really good artist.
  6. Well, time is ticking! I only have about a month to go. I swear he is coming earlier though. I am HUGE. I mean HUGE! Everyone I see ask if I am due anyday now. We were buying paint at Lowe's today and we saw an old friend and he was like "damn girl! How much longer?" I told him and he told Jay to I forget the term, but it's like a wresting move where you slam your elbow into your opponet's body? Anyhow he Jay to do that move on my stomach so Noah would come flying out. I realize as I type it that it sounds mean, but really he meant for it to be funny. Then, we were waiting for the Lowe's girl to mix our paint and some guy asked if I was due soon and I told him about a month. His wife was there too and he was like "oh. You should have seen her when she was pregnant with the twins"and she was like "ya. I was HUGE!" I was like "ya, but I am only having one!" Ugh....I just hope I am able to lose some after he is born....I know I am gonna have to work my ass off when I am released to do so! I have a doctor's appt. tomorrow! I am hoping he tells me that I only have 3 weeks to go or something like that! Jay started paiting the sea animals on the walls today. So far it looks really cute! He only did some sand, 2 jellyfish and a whale. Super cute though. I can't wait to post picures! How is everyone doing?
  7. So sad.....apparently he was really sick. Such a great actor and humanitarian.
  8. umm..so I just looked on ebay for the Ed Hardy bags...somehow I don't think his logo "love kills slowly" is appropriate for a diaper bag!
  9. Lisa, you look great! I, on the other hand, am a whale! I need to find the camera cord to post pictures. I have been SO bad about taking baby bump pics.... I know I am going to end up regretting not doing so! We got a basic black diaper bag so that Jay could carry it also. Smart thinking on my part! I don't really like it, but it will do. My best friend that just had a baby 2 weeks ago found a Betsey Johnson on ebay for like $120 but it is super big and heavy...I don't know how she carries it! It is cute though! I hear Ed Hardy makes diaper bags now, I may check them out...although since I am taking a year off, we need to watch the dinero! Mo! Taht bedding is so cute!
  10. Wow, that is a high BP! Seems like everything is good this time around! Hopefully you don't develop it again...it's good your doc is keeping an eye on it though!

I'm pretty sure it will be, with my 1st I was at a 2-3 and 70% effaced by 36.5 weeks. So it looks like she will be here around 39 weeks, if she doesn't come on her own sooner! That's good news! Hannah and Noah may end up sharing a birthday! Did your first baby come early since you were dialated and effaced by that much?
  12. My first PG test had a VERY light second line. I took that one in the evening. When I woke up the next morning I took another and it was darker! Congrats!!!!! Oh and Tracy, I was 6.5 months pregnant when we got married...of course I was huge and had to get a new dress, but I think you will be okay with only 2 months to go. Being pregnant when I got married was not ideal for me, but since I could never get pregnant before I didn't mind so much! And, I like our pictures, so that's a plus!
  13. We got the rainforest bouncer and swing. Can't wait to put them together! Last night, I came out of the restroom and the nursery room door was open and the light was on. I went in there and Jay was in there just staring at the crib. I was like "what's wrong?" And he just smiled and said nothing. I said "it's weird, right?" And he was like "ya, it's crazy." This is just so shocking to us still because we never thought we would have a baby. Oh! Let me give you guys an idea. My mom bought fabric and fabric markers for the shower. She cut the fabric into squares so that each person at the shower got a square. Everyone either wrote something and/or drew something on the fabric for Noah and she is going to make it into a quilt! Such a cute idea! We also decorated onesies, bibs, and hats instead of playing games. We were at a restaurant and didn't think games would be appropriate.
  14. Lisa, we want pictures! Our shower was good...we had a co-ed one with a fishing thing. It was so cute. My BFF who is a wedding planner/event coordinator planned it along with my mom, so it was smooth sailing. We got everything we needed. The only thing that we didn't get was the play mat, but we have a GC to Babies R Us that we are going to use to buy it. We got so many more clothes even though I told everyone no clothes. I don't think he will be able to wear all of them. Oh my gosh, we have so many blankets, towels, and washcloths! We have like 11 blankets (not including the 3 quilts his grandmothers have made for him), 2 robes, 12 hooded towels, and litrally like 30 washcloths! We are going to return a package of 12 washcloths and get something little that we can use. Or do you think that is a good amount (I am with you on this one, Lisa). I also changed my playtex bottles on the registry for the Dr. Brown's Air Vent ones...but they aren't BPA free, but I really like the little vent thingy, so what to do? Blah. Decisions! I could get the BPA free ones, but then they wouldn't have the air vent...unless there is some that I haven't seen that have the air vent and BPA free? I need to look again. We finished painting the room this weekend and put all his stuff away. Now, Jay just needs to do the mural and put all the big items together (bassinet, stroller, stuff like that). We are having storage issues also, Lisa! His dresser has a door on the side with 2 shelves in it, and for now we have blankets, towels, wash cloths in there along with diaper changing stuff, finger nail clippers, combs, stuff like that. We are going to buy a little 3 shelf book case to put all his books (he has like 10 books already), picture frames and probably move the blankets to it also....we really don't have much room. I will post pictures from the shower as soon as I can find my camera cord. I haven't seen it since we moved!
  15. Lisa, that sucks. You paid for it so you could learn! It's not like it's a college class that you hope and pray lets out early....Hopefully they don't do that next time! Was your shower last weekend? How did it go? Ours is tomorrow. I am so excited to see some friends I haven't seen in over a year! Should be fun. How is everyone else?
  16. Lisa, Luke is a cutie! I want another sono, but don't think I am getting one. Booo! I had my OB appt today and I am not leaking amniotic fluid, just regular discharge...He said the baby is still way up there, so that's good. He said my pain was "normal." I idn't get a good visit today....they had to reschedule everyone that had appts last Thurs and Fri because of Ike so I think they were busy....He didn't even measure my belly/cervix like he always does. I go back in 2 weeks then I start the weekly appts! I am getting so close! Woohoo! Oh, I found a cute dress on sale for $15 today! Unfortunately, since we moved back from S.A. to Corpus our Gap doesn't have a maternity area. I seriously only had Motherhood and Target, oh and JCP to choose from yeserday. I looked at the sale stuff at Motherhood, but a lot of it were the summer dresses that had spaghetti straps and I can't wear those. The dress I bought today isn't maternity, but it's so comfy and cute.
  17. Karma- We didn't get a drop of rain! We could have used some rain, but I am so happy we didn't get what the Houston/Gavleston area got. My best friend's -day is Nov. 7th...she wants Noah to be born on her b-day. Maybe they will both be born on that day! Our co-ed baby shower is this Saturday and I can't find ANYTHING to wear. Everything at Motherhood is for the winter....we don't get real winters here, especially in September....what the heck am I to wear?
  18. Morgan, the Weather Channel (I think) were the ones reporting the 65 year-old woman died in Galveston.... Actually, I just found th story on chron.com (Houston paper online). As cities deal with little power, police report relative calm | Front page | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle It's too long to copy and paste here....And, her name was Martha. eek!

We didn't even get a drop of rain and I don't think the winds got over 10 or 1 mph! What a relief! We watched the storm on the Weather Channel until about 1:30 then went to bed.... My in-laws were told it could take 2-4 weeks before their power was restored. Luckily, they have a second home here, in the town where we live, and can stay here....well, until my FIL has to go back to work. Almost 2 million people are w/o power and most gas stations have NO gas....they are advising to not use the water or to boil it since there is not much water left on the shelves in the storm. Downtown Houston is far from Galaveston and a lot of the buildings had their windows blown out. Most of the area is advising residents to not return and the ones that are there are on curfew. What I saw earlier there is only 1 death as of now being reported in Galveston...not sure about the surrounding areas. We were watching the Weather Channel last night and the weather guy got knocked down by the winds...it was crazy. Geraldo Rivera also got knocked down by the waves. They are estimated $18billion of damage....40 homes in Seaside are completely gone....and most restaurants and a lot of homes in Galveston are gone too. In all, if there are no more lives lost, I think the property damage is a blessing. Could have been WAY worse.
  20. Jay's nieces junior high school has water in it already..... Also, Jay's brother's family lost power at around 7:30 which was way before the rain came....the wind must be crazy. Morgan, let us know when you find out something. I will keep them in my prayers tonight...along with all the BDW girls in Houston...well, along with everyone in that area.
  21. Hi girlies....nothing is going on here! We are supposed to get some rain and more wind later....I think that's about it. Houston and Galveston are gonna get slammed though. Jay's paretns FINALLY decided to leave this morning because Galveston was already flooded and the hurricane was still hundreds of miles away. I am so relieved! This hurricane is gonna be bad. I will keep the Houston girls and Morgan's family in my prayers!
