Jamaica 2006: Dscf0017 wedding pics start about half way down - but all pics are from these people's Beaches Boscobel trip -
Let's post everything we can find about Beaches Boscobel here!! reviews from yahoo travel: Large Wedding By A Yahoo! Contributor from Emmaus,Pa 03/26/07 Last Visit:May 2006 Great for:Families, Beds, Pool, Spa, Romance, Luxury, Nightlife My wife and I were married in Boscobel on May 5th 2006. We had 41 people down to witness the wonderful event. I cannot explain how professional the wedding staff as well as the staff at the resort were. Dalton the wedding coordinator was the man. The wedding was set on the Venitian Terrace, overlooking the entire resort and ocean. the ceremony was wonderful and was followed by the most breathtaking reception I could ever ask for. My wife and I are actually going back again this May because of our experience. The Staff at Beaches Boscobel are like no other on earth. A truely remarkable experience. I recommend Boscobel to all. Evan and Krystle Walters Great Vacation By A Yahoo! Contributor from Cincinnati, Ohio We visited Beaches Boscobel in April and it was perfect!! We got married at the resort and could not have asked for anything better. The trip from Montego Bay was long, but we have never been to Jamaica so it was all new to us and we were just happy to be on vacation. When your at the resorts you dont really get a taste of the "real" Jamaica and how poor they really are.So the bus ride was also a learning experience. As far as the resort itself, check in was smooth. There were about 15 in our party and we all were in our rooms within 30 minutes. Our room was very nice no complaints what so ever. Service was excellent as were the meals. Not one person in our group had any complaints. The wedding consultant, Kesha was awesome she made our wedding day great!! We plan on returning next year. Vacation/wedding of a lifetime By A Yahoo! Contributor from Nashville, TN Last Visit: January 2007 My husband and I went to Beaches Boscobel, along with our friends and family from the states for our wedding ceremony. From the minute we stepped off the plane in Montego Bay, everything and everyone was fabulous. They immediately took us into the lounge to wait for the bus, gave us drinks, knew our names. The bus ride to Ocho Rios isn't near as bad as all the reviews you read on here, I know, I read them all ahead of time to be prepared for whatever happened. It was great too - bus driver had tons of info about the places we drove through, lots of history and stories, very entertaining. Once we arrived at the resort, we were greeted out front, given more drinks, and whisked away by the conceirge to our rooms, which were great! The wedding went off perfectly even though there was no rehearsal, they tell you exactly what to do at every move, which is great when you are nervous, the reception was perfect, everyone there we met really went above and beyond all we had ever dreamed our wedding would be. My husband and I stayed for 2 full weeks, and when leaving, were very sad. We knew everyone by name, and vice versa, and after our amazing experience, I cannot imagine ever having a wedding any other way. We will defintely recommend and return every time we get a chance Oh, Carly you're going to LOVE this - someone's pics of their wedding at Beaches Boscobel! don-allison : photos : Allison and Don's Wedding : The Arizona Gazebo at Beaches Boscobel, where the wedding was held - powered by SmugMug (wedding pics actually start on page 8 ) more reviews: Beaches Boscobel Ocho Rios Resrt Reviews - Jamaica - Debbie's Caribbean Travel Resort Reviews - Beaches Boscobel YAY! How do you incorporate extr veggies in your diet>
Heidi replied to ~Melissa~'s topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
make a stir fry!! use lots of veggies (onions/carrots/green beans/broccoli/etC) or veggie snacks - my favorite (just posted on another thread) is sugar pees lightly sauteed in olive oil & basil. Just cook them till they turn bright green. YUMMMM!!!! -
What's your favorite creative healthy snack???
Heidi replied to Amy&Andy's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
edamame with sea salt & lime sugar pees cooked in a little bit of olive oil & basil fruit smoothies (whatever I have lying around with some OJ!) roasted red pepper hummus with carrots -
Bridesmaids dresses
Heidi replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Ah, so much for picking out dresses I like! last night, my sister & I went bridesmaid dress shopping & tried on all the ones we picked out online that we liked! HA! They all looked quite bad on her (styles were just not flattering at all! Our family has been blessed with a big arse & big hips!)!!! Oh well - back to the drawing board! -
I had problems similar to this as well. Neither my mom or his parents wanted to travel to Jamaica. My family had safety concerns - lots of news of robberies/etc in Jamaica against American citizent. One of my uncle's even mailed me an article he clipped out of the Wall Street Journal detailing one of the attacks. BUT, we called/visited with everyone who had concerns and assured them that we were staying at a very safe resort. I talked with my family; he talked with his. We told them all that this is what WE want for our wedding, we are paying for it ourselves - so this is what we are doing. And we want them to be there with us. Well, they have all booked their travel now! Once they understood it became a whole lot easier! Then again, since we are paying they really don't have much of a say in the whole thing anyway!!! haha!

I emailed Sun Gold Photography (based in Negril) just to see about working with the Riu...here's what they sent me: Hello Heidi and Reggie, Congratulations on your up coming wedding. Yes we have photographed at RIU Ocho Rios. We just book in for the day of the wedding, the last wedding we photographed there, the "Hotel Photographer" was very rude and his behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. The Bride and all 65 guest were not happy about it, and lodged a complaint. I have been so busy, but I am also lodging a complaint, I did so the day after the wedding and the Hotel General Manager was very understanding and agreed with us that the Hotel Photographer (I believe his name was Micheal) was totally out of line. So, I'm not sure what is up with RIU, but as I said we ask our clients to pay for a nights stay, and your time of the year is very reasonable. I once got it for 190.00 per couple (it was booked during a special) which is less than our Travel Fee to Ocho Rios. If you are booking us into the Hotel the travel fee is only 50.00 for fuel. I also, heard that if your not booking us into the Hotel, they are now trying to implement a vendors fee, which I think was 100.00, but do not quote me. Obviously they are aware that something needs to be done about their policies, and are trying to keep everyone happy. BTW, our new Website is up, Paula & Damian - Wedding Photography by Sun Gold Photography and I'm having a little problem with the Blog, but I'll soon get the hang of it, so check it frequently. To view additional photos: Go to Shutterfly | Develop, Print & Share Digital Photos: Create Photo Gifts Online and on the member sign in details for the email type in [email protected] and for the password type in smile. Be sure to click on view all albums. Also check by and visit our blog. Enjoy! Thanks again and I hope this all helps, Paula Damian & Paula Williams Sun Gold Photography Jamaica, West Indies (876) 957-6502 US line (830) 515-5021 I am also attaching a word document with their pricing info. PS - Emailed Chandlyn last night to see if we can indeed just pay a vendor's fee and use any photographer - will keep you all updated! sun gold.doc
