I'm lovin' the pictures! and omg, I'm going to bawl my eyes out when I walk down the aisle! I cry just thinking about the day! At least you still look pretty when you cry!!!

  3. Wow, that'll be an absolutely stunning wedding. As for the dress, I think you could still do anything you wanted - but you could easily do something casual, maybe not even full length.

    Hello

Welcome to the forum!!! There are tonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnns of us Cabo brides here, so hopefully you'll be able to find anything and everything you're looking for!

Most of the credit card companies/banks automated systems will automatically decline a card when it's used in an irregular pattern--- for example, if a person hardly ever travels and then comes to Mexico for your wedding, the automated system with the cc company will decline the charges. Then the owner of the card has to call in and tell them it's ok before they release the hold on the card... Even when I've notified the bank/cc company in advance that I was leaving the country, they still decline my first charge until I prove it's me using the card. I wonder if it's different in the U.S.? My aunt works for a bank, she mentioned if you call in ahead of time, they can release any automated systems which might interfere with your cc sprees while on vacation. She works for a more local bank though, so I'm not sure how that varies from bank to bank. Definately worth checking out when you call - ask them if there is a chance that might happen.
  6. We are flying 7 days before the wedding. The guests arrive on the Sunday before the wedding on Friday. The entire group flies out the Sunday after the wedding (so they're there for an entire week). We did have it so everyone left the day after the wedding, but my mom pointed out to me that some guests might have early flights out the next day and would have to bail out of the wedding early - kind of defeats the purpose! IF Aaron and I weren't flying out somewhere else for our honeymoon for two weeks, I'd stay at least one more week in Cabo - for sure!
  7. Aww great ideas!! That tripod is too cool... And if you know me at all, you know it's been bookmarked among all of the others I'll have to sift through one day! Thanks! I think if anyone else has really cool wedding present ideas - this is the thread to post it in. Come on ladies, as brides-to-be (and newlyweds), lets get creative!!!
  8. Here it is: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-sun-care.html

I'll see if I can find the thread for you...
  10. Not sure if its in your oot bags or anything, but we ALWAYS bring Aloe Vera gel. If you get a sunburn, it's a lifesaver... although not many people seem to bring it with them. Better to be safe than sorry!
  11. Hey Jamy, do you think you could post these songs here too: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ing-songs.html You've got some awesome selections there, and I bet they'll come in handy for a future bride!
  12. Congratulations to Karen and Jason... who I believe are our only bride and groom members on BDW! I hope everything goes absolutely beautifully for you, you're both such sweet, kind, helpful people and you both deserve all the happiness in the world! Aww - ok sappy moment over! Jason, when you get back you have to dish the details about your romantic surprise plans for Karen!
  13. Ahh! Frustrating! I don't think most men realise how much work a wedding really is - including DW! With the exception of some awesome grooms we've had on this forum, most grooms I know just step back and let the brides do all of the work and they enjoy the day! Uh... no! That's not the way it should be. I love Stephanie's TaDa list - that's SO cute. Do something like that, and spare no details. Let him take responsibility for some of it - he may surprise you. And if he doesn't help, start highlighting some of the list and let him know you'll need to have that done by x date. It might sound Bridezilla-ish, but it's his day too... every single detail. Plus, he should be supporting you with your decisions. Either he steps up and makes his own decisions, or he pitches in with the help.

That's brilliant. Hmm... is it too late to reschedule my wedding?! That's an awesome idea!!
  15. Wow. Well I'm glad it's all sorted out. But whats up with your TA?! Seriously, who complains to their clients all the time about the bride's family? Also, I've never heard of TA administration fees, but I also haven't used very many TA's before. I'd fight them if she brought them up though
  16. Howdy, howdy (it's Stampede week in Calgary - the best outdoor show on earth... or something like that!) Anyways, my first choice was St. Thomas. I love love love love love it there! I had some information on my computer about it, but have been planning a Mexico wedding instead for the last 6 months, so I may not have it anymore. I'll check when I get home (thank goodness for interenet at work! hehe). What have you found out so far about St. Thomas? Also, we've had a few St. Thomas brides here. Most recently, Jessica (username: Jessicalovesbrian) and Mishi (username is the same). You might want to check out some of their threads: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-pictures.html http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...shis-pics.html http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...eview-now.html Or some of these: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-pictures.html http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...st-thomas.html http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...g-planner.html http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...n-resorts.html Hope that helps!

  18. Oh, I love Maggie dresses!! It's so gorgeous! Do you even need it altered at all? Woohoo- nuthin' wrong with off the rack, that just means it's cheaper! (right?!)
  19. Well, honestly. It's good. My uncle sent us invitations to his wedding this year that said pretty much exactly the same thing... but maybe that's my point. It's definately nice, but it's missing that zazz that can be added with a DW. Just my honest opinion. I wanted to try something that was a little different from all the other invitations people receive every summer. Especially if they're DIY, you might want to add a little beach flavour to it... IMO
  20. Oh, and how awesome is this that FMIL is helping out?! lol, complete 180!
  21. Awesome! It looks like it needs a bit of updating, nonetheless, very helpful! This'll come in handy. Thanks Drea!

I'll add mine after my site visit, when I hopefully know more! This is a good list - all the info!
  23. Oh yes! The only thing I think I'm going to nix is the appetisers during the cocktail hour, apparently they don't get eaten! But the bar, I'm almost certain.
  24. Also, your profile picture is different from the avatar. The profile picture won't show when you post, only the avatar. In the User CP, in the left menu bar, you'll see Avatar. That's where you will want to upload your picture to.
