  1. Aquaworld is definitely one of the bigger and more reputable watersports companies in Cancun. From Dreams Cancun it would only be a 10-15 minute bus ride to get to their facility. A cab from there would probably take about the same amount of time, but it would cost a lot more. Aquaworld also does a lot of other stuff that everyone else may be interested in link para-sailing, waverunnners, jungle tour, snorkeling tours, diving certification classes, etc. If you have any other questions, I would be glad to help.
  2. My god woman. Those photos are outstanding! So I guess you and E really did just roll around making out for a few hours huh. It looks like you had a great photographer who was capturing images of two people who were just so in love with each other and it couldn't help but to shine through in the photos. Congrats again!

  4. For some upbeat vintage style stuff you might want to check out some stuff by... Desmond Dekker The Skatelites Toots & the Maytals

  6. Very good Matt! I just read on another forum that evacuations are already beginning in the Riviera Maya at some hotels, condos and guest houses. Better safe than sorry. Stay safe!
  7. Is there any particular style of food you are thinking of? How far away from the hotel are you willing to go? One that comes to mind is Laguna Grill which is pretty close to the Marriott. They do Asian Fusion cuisine for relatively moderate prices. Or La Habichuela in downtown Cancun. Great Mayan/Mexican/Caribbean food with a beautiful outdoor seating garden.

Holbox is not the kind of place I would want to be in a Hurricane. Just make sure he knows the directions for how to drive to Merida from there if he has to evacuate. Best of luck to you guys and be safe.

Seriously I stressed about the whole "wait until you get here to pick everything", but it's really the way to go. The "waiting to figure it out when we get there" thing was a little nerve racking for us as well. It really does go quickly and smoothly once you meet with Sandra. The reception at El Patio is a great idea. That must have been so awesome.
  10. And good timing too for you guys. That would suck if something like that happened on the big day.
  11. Looks like the Riviera Maya and Cancun could be in a bit of trouble depending on how this storm tracks over the next few days. Anyone who is going to be there over the next week or so make sure to check with your travel insurance companies and keep an eye out with airlines for advisories.
  12. If you are looking for something a little bit off the beaten path, but still somewhat luxurious I might have a few for you. Rincon Beach Resort. Very very nice place, but the beach is not so great for swimming. For laying out on the beach and watching sunsets though it is awesome. Hotel and beach resort in Rincon Puerto Rico Horned Dorset Primavera. Very nice upscale sort of place with a boutique feel. One of the cast members from Ugly Betty got married there recently. The Horned Dorset Primavera Hotel | Rincon, PR Hopefully in the near future our dream of owning a hotel in Rincon will come to life and we will be able to host weddings ourselves!
  13. Thanks for sharing those pics! You guys look so happy together. And I have to say that Jason is quite possibly the most handsome devil I have ever seen in my life. That Karen is quite ravishingly beautiful as well.

You don't have to worry about the college scene much outside of Cancun and a little bit for Playa. The other areas may be a bit more crowded, but it wont be the rowdy party scene that Cancun is.
  15. I highly recommend MPIX as well. I am not in the pro realm like Robyn or Jill, but I have used them a bunch of times and have always been pleased. They offer a bunch of specialty printing options also that are worth looking into. Stuff like printing on canvas, metallic finish paper, books, etc. If you go to their site you can order a sample print package for free to see what some of the various paper options look and feel like.
  16. The reason most of them use a site like that is that they get a percentage of the sale. The quality is good though. If you have access to the digital files getting them printed yourself would be cheaper.
  17. I saw the hammock photo and I was all like WTF mang I didn't see no hammocks there. But alas, you guys were creative enough to walk down the beach a little. I could only ever get enough energy together to make it over to the bar area. Such is life in the tropics though. Good review by the way. I can't believe they painted the flowers though?? (cue up the bloated elvis).....in the ghetto....... It was awesome getting to meet you guys and watch your wedding from a distance. Maybe if we end up in the same place next year we can all sit down and have that fabled drink together.
  18. I agree with Jaime on this one. Playa would be the closest to a middle ground. Depending on if you stay right in town or just outside of town it can be really lively or nice and relaxed. Most of the other towns down that way don't have much in the way of nightlife, but Playa definitely comes alive at night in a somewhat more low key way than Cancun.
  19. July 5th eh? I think that Karen and I probably saw the wedding you were at then. I remember watching a couple of them that day.
  20. There are so many wonderful areas out of the San Juan area. Vieques, which is off of the west coast is a beautiful place with caribbean beaches and a relaxed atmosphere. Rincon on the west coast is a laid back surfer town with awesome beaches and some very upscale botique hotels. Ponce on the southern coast is a vibrant community with art musems, shopping and a bio-luminescent bay. When we went to PR last year we got off the plane in San Juan and headed right out of town. Hopefully we will get to go back again this spring for a few days.
  21. For contacting Sandra............ 1. She is outrageously overworked and never seems to have enough hours in the day to get everything done. So, sometimes she does need a while to get back to people. 2. When I started emailing her I was not getting any responses. It turned out that because I was using AOL the replies she was sending were not getting through. Maybe try using a generic service like Yahoo or Gmail. 3. Calling her is another option. If she is not available to talk, her assistant Landy usually is. I can't really help with the reception questions though as it was just Karen and I there with no guests for the wedding.
  22. Congrats guys!!!! I just looked at a webcam on the beach just north of there and it looks like an absolutely perfect day for your wedding. Hope all goes well and that you guys have tons of fun today and for the rest of your lives.
