  1. I really owe a BIG THANKS to all of you girls that my wedding turned out they way it did!!! I had too much fun planning it all - it feels kind of empty now since it's over. My next project will be to make an album for mysef and my parents but after that all I have left is this forum. So don't be surprised if i keep poking my nose here...lol Jennette - it took me two trips to Mexico with over-weight luggages (total of 9) and one shipment with way over priced shipping cost to bring everything over there...lol

Congrats...you did an awesome job! Thanks Susan! Okay, the floating candles was an excellent idea for except we couldn't light them up because of the wind. If you get any kind of candles and your reception is outside, make sure you get hurricane candle shades. Good think I had LED paper lanterns and water lights (lights up on a contact with water) to create an atmosphere. Centerpieces were a combination of real rose petals, fake petals and fake little pink flowers.
  3. Sol - you were wonderful! Thanks for calming me down when I was stressed out for being late I was one angry bridezilla... I am glad i could be an inspiration to you because your work was definetely an inspiration for me to look beautiful. The song was by Damien Rice "Blower's daughter" - everybody was "gaga" for that song The beginning words are perfect - "...and here it is...can't take my eyes off of you"

I am glad you guys like that idea and please don't feel bad because I am sure I "borrowed" this idea from someone else on this forum...lol The shells are called Pearled Nautilus Seashells. I will try to find a receipt or email at home from which online store I purchased. I think it's either Ebay or Nautilus Shell, Natural Nautilus, Pearled Nautilus - Large Decorative Shells They also have a display stands which helped a lot: Shell Stands - Nautilus Lucite Stand - Sand Dollar Display Easel

Thanks Edyta! The ring is made by NYC boutique delicategem.com It's on a diamond district in NYC so the price is much better than what you would pay at Tiffany's or any other retail jeweler. They do an excellent job and you can customize the size, style, color, etc.

I have a question about your flowers. I saw that you had a suitcase full of flowers. Did you just take them all off the steams and sprinkle around for decor...and put them through the bows on the back of the chairs? Such a nice touch!! Also are those the same flowers that the girls have in their hair? Yes, i bought many steams of different kind of orchids (hot pink orchids, white orchids, pink orchids) ( I believe it was pretty cheap from Save on Crafts, Wedding Supplies, Silk Flowers, Tulle, Scrapbooking & Discount Craft Supplies Save-on-crafts). I brought fake flowers bc for the natural ones they charge an arm and leg. Very expensive. Got to come up with something else. I used some of them for the flower bases during ceremony, on fans, cake. The rest we removed from the steams and sprinkled on the floors and table by WC. Most of the girls used flowers from the flowerclip.com. I think one of them got creative and grabed one orchid from the table and put it in her hair...lol I have no idea how it stayed there though i can always ask. For the chairs, i bought hot pink daisies from save-on-crafts.com and put them through the bows. They looked so natural. Hope this helps.

Thanks Melissa! My bouquet was with pink cymbidium orchids. Bridesmaids' - pink lillies.
  9. Hello, All I am so excited to finally share my wedding pictures from Sol Tamargo. She did an excellent job as always. This is just a few and I am impatiently waiting for the CD with the rest of them. I hope you enjoy them. http://www.soltamargo.com/weddings/loreta&kashif/ For all you picture whores there here is a link to more non-pro wedding and non-wedding pictures http://ourwedding.studiocontempo.com Any questions at all, please ask.
  10. Yes, i bought flowers from them for my bridesmaids and myself. They are beautiful. I loved the color. You can see one of them in the picture below
  11. Congratulations. Looks like you had a spectacular wedding! Yay!
  12. We rented a sound system (2 speakers) which came with a guy who set it up. He helped with running the iPOD. As far as announcements, we hired MC/Entertainment guy. It was the same guy doing other activities at the resort like tequila tasting, salsa dance lessons, etc. but he was great! Really funny and got the crowd going. After announcing Mr. and Mrs... and the first dance he left. He came back after the dinner was finished and continued. We had this Tequila song playing every 10-15 min during which everyone had to do a tequila shot. He helped to coordinate that as well. The fee was $80.00. Well worth it.
  13. Awww...I can't wait to see my wedding pictures too! I think they should be ready in a week or so now. Edyta - you are too funny - the pics were taken by my husband and he is a photographer...lol He took them from his "point and shoot" little camera. Unfortunately, he didn't bring his pro camera on a trip, he didn't want to do any work whatsoever on his wedding day.
  14. Wish you best of luck, Tammy! Everything will be perfect. Enjoy every second of it.

Here are some pics of the resort and our 10 day stay. No wedding pictures yet Kashif and Loreta Wedding - May 22nd 2007 - Cancun - Mexico

Darlene Darlene - you will be so happy with the resort. Excellent excellent choice! I can't say enough good words about them. The only thing i did not do was my hair in their SPA. I was too scared to take a risk. I ran away the moment the girl started putting hair spray on my dirty hair...lol Apparently, you supposed to wash them before you come in but no one told me that. After some arguing she finally agreed to wash them but i just couldn't sit still. I knew that if i will not like what she has done, i will have no time to redo them.

Everything went by so quickly I didn't do a BD session bc i couldn't find a photographer i really liked. I am thinking of doing it for his Birthday in October so if you girls are doing the photoshoot with Leigh in August, please let me know.
  18. Hi Girls! Thank you SO much for all the warm wishes! IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE! I loved every second of it. I can't believe it's all over. I am back to work and i am oh so depressed OMG...we had a time of our lives. Everything was picture perfect. The resort, the weather, wedding coordinator, videographer, photographer. I could go on and on about how wonderful everything was. We should get pictures from Sol in 2 weeks. We didn't do "Trash the dress" session (although i was dying to do it) because she had to leave to Atlanta the next day. She got married this Saturday as well. I will post a link to the non-wedding day pictures shortly. I want to Thank all of you who made my wedding planning experience so much easier and so much more fun. Because of you everything turned out so beautifully. I don’t know what I have done without you girls. I want to give you one advice - time flies, especially on the wedding day so ENJOY every second of it. I had so much fun and before I knew I had to take my dress off bc the night was over. I had nightmares about how this can not be the end of it and I will still have to wear my dress and do this again…lol Let me know if you have any questions at all. I know that not so many girls are getting married at Excellence but i would highly recommend them. The grounds are just beautiful, the service is outstanding, gourmet food. Truly All Inclusive. And if you have any other questions regarding the wedding, I will be more than happy to answer them.
  19. I just came from El Dorado Royale and their beach is not swimable at all. I would not stay there just for that reason. But I am a big beach lover and it's a big factor for me in choosing a resort.
  20. I would recommend Excellence Riviera Cancun. It has all those things you are looking for. I did a site visit and it's absolutely amazing.
  21. We went there last summer for friend's wedding. It was amazing. The resort is beautiful.
  22. Welcome baby I am glad you finally listened to me and joined this forum
  23. thanks...i shouldn't have posted my new dress in the same thread while i am trying to sell the old one...lol
