  2. I cannot believe you ladies lost the rings, lol! Abby you look so beautiful in your dress!!! Ladies, the clock is ticking way too fast! Off to do my table numbers!

IF they can get your callas, I'm willing to bet they are being IMPORTED which would make them SUPER expensive (like with orchids and tulips which are always imported). What SHOULD be available now: Roses (ALWAYS available - and not uber expensive) Alstromeria Bethlehem Star Calla Lillies Cartemom Casablanca Cymbidium and dendrobium orchids (they are $$, eh!) Delphenium Gerber Daisies Ginger Gladiola Heliconia Iris Irish Bells Lily Lisianthus Mums Tuberose Stargazer Tulips (these are $$ too) Now knowing what sort of wedding you're having, my recommendations are: Roses with Bethlehem Star and/or Dendrobium orchids Roses with Lisianthius Dendrobium orchids with Lisianthius Roses and lillies Bethlehem Star, Tuberoses and Lisianthius Or you could try an all Casablanca bouquet. Huge flowers, smell great - but don't work so well with other flowers. Or maybe Casablancas with Bethlehem Star. Hope that helped! Thank you!!! I'm going to try and find pics of bouquets with these flowers and send them to my WC. My MOH's are going to carry a single green antherium. I guess I really wanted lillies b/c my grandmother carried them on her wedding day and I love the name Lily and thought if I ever had a girl I'd have a story to tell her. The problem with the vendors in GDL is that you have to babysit them CONSTANTLY to make sure they are on top of things and getting your order to them. And you have to pay them in a bank here in town and you have to go to the bus station to pick the flowers up. What I'm saying is it's a rigamaro - one that's not so bad when your WC does it but I honestly don't think you want that stress right before your wedding - But if you're a good stress handler, you might try Freesia. They only speak Spanish but I think I have the phone # somewhere, if you would like to give it a go . Hmmm. I have family driving in from GDL the Wednesday prior to the wedding ( I get married on Friday). But I think they would die by then.
  4. Whooohooo!!! Welcome to the Mod Squad!!!
  5. You are so good Abby! I have not done any projects for the wedding! I really need to get moving! Maura, don't worry, you shed the pounds, if not have your seamstress let it out. I had to let my dress out, it was way too tight.

As for the veil, you can custom make one. Find a veil you really love then send them an email. Mine was custom b/c of the veil. The owner is great!
  7. I took some crappy camera phone pics, but here is my dress. I left it b/c I was not happy with the bustle, the back of the dress is too long. However the dress itself is too long. I altered the top into a slight sweetheart, exactly what I wanted! before after Total look (I have no make up, hair is not done and excuse my belly button dip!)

  9. Hmm. I do want a video. Should I try?? I know I will look like B.
  10. Wow! I cannot believe it is such a rip off! I can go to trader joes and purchase a bouquet for that price!
  11. Yes, I do remember. I guess I need to put pressure on my WC (who needs to put pressure on her vendor).
  12. Hi ladies, I am having a hard time choosing my bouquet. I had my heart set on a white calla lily bouquet, however my WC says these are very expensive. The thing is, I don't know what type of bouquet to look for if I don't know what is available. PV brides, please share your bouquets with me TIA
  13. Everything looks amazing! Andy is going to LOVE his BD book! I love how you recreated the hanging orchids! I can't wait to see your wedding pics!
  14. I got a call from from the bridal salon... my dress is in!! I'm picking it up tomorrow! I can't wait to see it. They altered the strapless into a sweetheart and added a bustle. I swear it better fit! I just got home from happy hour/work shower and had way too many nachos and empanadas! Bad choice!

We've discussed this before, but we both work across (the 405) the way! How funny! I work so close, but still, I got used to filling up w/ $40 tops, now its like $70! My bro lives in Northridge and I hate that fact that I hesitate driving out there to visit my neice and nephew.
  16. Oh! Let me know when!
