  1. welcome to BDW!  The girls have given great advice.

Yes, some resorts offer free weddings and they are very clear what is included.  usually it is very basic like flowers, for a set amount of people, etc. and any extras will cost you.  They will usually want you to have a group contract in place and a minimum amount of rooms or room nights booked.

if you would like to contact us, we can break down the most popular "free" wedding package offered by different resort brands.

  3. welcome Brooke!

Ann is right, the first step is to find a good travel agent.  I am part of Wright Travel Agency (you can read our reviews in my signature) and we are destination wedding and honeymoon specialists.  We LOVE cabo!!  I got married there and have great connections.  Our agency was just there in July as well doing site inspections.

We would love to help answer any questions you may have :)

  4. June 4th, 2016, Excellence Playa Mujeres, Mexico!!! (Well I have to wait until February/ March 2015 for the Resort to open up their 2016 calendar to confirm my date)

Hi! @@Jamaica2016 , How is planning going?Looks like we are planning for about the same time. I'm looking at June 4th 2016 with a back up date of June 18th 2016. I'm trying to figure out how much I should have done by what point. I just finished our wedding website this week. I don't know if it's too soon so send a link out to our guest or not? Some people are already asking for pricing details and what not, but of course I don't have this information yet.

It's nice to see other 2016 brides already planning!

Excellence is a great resort and TA Wendy has a great relationship with them.  If you contact her, she may be able to get your date confirmed earlier.

  5. We can definitely help narrow down the choices for you.  We are a top agency with all of the resorts you mentioned and have some exclusives that are not available to most agencies.

Regarding Hard Rock, we have a few $3000 wedding package to giveaway.

Regarding Generations, we have upgrades, spa and dinner certs.

This is in addition to the normal group amenities.

  6. How were you able to get day passes? I am currently researching having a wedding at either Beach Palace or Hard Rock Mayan Riviera and some of the quotes I have received for a vendor fee are astronomical. This wedding coordinator at Beach Palace quoted me $900. I have read through different forums and have seen such inconsistent amounts for a vendor fee.. it's like they almost make up a number and they don't have set pricing. I'd love to be able to get away with day passes since I am thinking about booking an outside photographer for the wedding.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

We work with both resorts pretty closely and outside vendor fees are going to vary depending on the year (they change them) as well as the type of vendor.

The resorts would really prefer you use their vendors but we have gotten some fees waived.

If you would like to contact us, we can get some rates and vendor fees for you.  You can reach me via the link in my signature :)

  8. pricing is really going to depend on a few factors:

    1. there is a big price difference between high and low seasons

    2. how many nights?  This is going to factor in because if some people are quoting 3 nights vs. 7 nights, obviously that is going to make a difference.

    3. are there any charter flights out of your area?

    4. the quality of resort.  A 4 star will be much higher than a 2 star

    5. All-inclusive vs. non-AI.  Upfront the cost may be lower for a non-AI but once you factor in food and drinks, AI are usually a better route.

    6. Location: usually cabo and riviera maya are more expensive than PV but once you factor in air it changes which is more expensive.  Dominican republic is a good option as well if you have good, direct air.

There is a reason why Riviera Maya/Cancun is one of the most popular dw spots. You get great bang for your buck.
