Question regarding favors in the OOT bag/reception - Please advise!

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies quick question. For those of you who have given OOT to their guests and even those planning on doing so, what were your main favors to your guests? Did you use the mugs as favors or did you put the mugs in the OOT and gave separate favors? My fiance and I are in the midst of trying to decide if the mugs themselves will be favors, or if we should also give a smaller favor to be set up at the table seating for each guest at the reception.

Please share your input! Appreciate it!

We did OOT bags that had; first aid kit, tea, hangover pills, crystal light packets, pepto, advil, umbrella straws, disposable cameras, sunscreen, luggage tags and other little things that I can't remember now! And we did favors on the tables too.  I added name tags to the favors so they doubled as place markers.  We had cigars for men(bought at the resort) and seashell lip balms for the women(ordered online).  It is all a matter of your budget and when you want people to use your items.  Mugs may be best given out before so they can use them and then you don't have to haul them all down yourself.

Thanks Justustwo for sharing this. Now I can look through and see what others have done. I think we're going to do both mugs and favors. I want our guests to have the best experience they can have especially since for many of them, this will be their first time attending a destination wedding.

Espeically, if this will be their first destination wedding, I think anything you do will WOW your guests! I honestly don't think people expect welcome bags, so they are a nice touch. I plan to do them, but we'll see how the budget goes first before I decide how much to put into them!

If you can't fit both OOT bags and favors in your budget, or just decide you don't want either or both, don't stress out. People are there to celebrate your wedding and have a fun time, not just to get a little favor out of it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
