We got engaged on 11/11/05 and married on 11/11/06. None of it was on purpose at all (if you can believe that! the timing just worked out), but I like it anyway. Our five year anniv is 11/11/11 and my friends and family are all talking about having a reunion in Cabo! :)

I originally wanted to do NYE since we met on NYE three years ago (and got engaged then, as well). But since that's high season for Mexico and high season for my work, I knew it would be too expensive for my guests and I wouldn't be able to take two weeks off.

So then we thought 777 would be cool, and Dreams had it available, so voila.

we never even tried to find a "meaningful" date - but i kind of wish we would have! the date we have was just available. although it probably is pretty close to us being together for 4 years - we just never had a first date or anything to go by!

When I asked my mom why she chose the date she did - well she said it was the only date available during her week off of school... but that's besides the point. She liked the idea of making an insignificant day special. I liked that idea too! Plus, now I get even more special days!!!

Our date doesn't have any significant meaning. I wanted 06/07/08, but FH's sister teaches at a Catholic School and its finals week. I didnt want to go later because it would be hotter and I couldn't go earlier because I am graduating from college a week before the date we picked. So here we are at 05/31/08.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
