p.s.
Some friends of ours got to DRC today and sent us a text. It said word for word: DUDE! THIS PLACE ROCKS! IT'S THE BEST PLACE WE'VE EVER BEEN TO!!

I started jumping up and down in the kitchen and got all misty eyed.
Must make you feel great to know your guests are already loving it!!! That's awesome. Good luck and I'm sure your wedding will be fabulous :-)

~how do we pay?

~did you make the salon appointment for me?

I would think I'd get an answer tomorrow night at the latest, seeing as how we have a meeting set up for 8pm on Tuesday!
Cathy...so you really had to contact her? She didn't email you asking for your final count? We are leaving August 4 for Aug 8 wedding. So, hoping to hear from her. I am so excited for you. What package are you going with? We originally wanted the ultimate but now I am not sure if we need it.

I have CONFIRMED with Ivan (from Doremixx) the pricing for the setup for a slideshow. However, I should clarify - we have a large group coming and we wanted to have something organized the night before the wedding. So we are going to do Karaoke for a few hours (which we'll be using Doremixx for) and he'll also bring stuff to set up a slideshow (for the extra fee I quoted earlier). If you wanted to do the slideshow during your reception or something, I'm sure he could work that out and I would imagine at the same price he quoted for us.
We are using DoRemixx too...just checking...they are $300/hr?? Is that correct?

We are planning on having the white satin chairs on the beach, with alternating orange and pink sashes. I am going to put orchids on the back of the chairs (kinda where the bows tie). I sent Ana a picture of the exact setup I wanted and she said she could do it. I also wanted flowers in the sand on the beach and then a pink and orange decor for the four post thingy they put in on the beach. We are having 39 people coming with us so it isn't too huge but not tiny either. I haven't decided anything for the tables for dinner yet though. I am still thinking of what to do for that. I want something really elegant. I think I will do hurricane vases with flowers and candles in them. Something simple but pretty. The price of our wedding just keeps going up... We are not doing anything once we get home so this will be it for us. What are you doing??
Are you bringing your own orange and pink decor for the four post thing on the beach? I want to incorporate purple in mine with white and wasn't sure if we have to provide our own if it's a different color other than white.

As for the petals, I have read on here that many people go to the walmart or sams in playa and some small mexican groceries to pick up live flowers (MUCH cheaper) and pull the petals from the those the day of or before. I think that is what I'm going to do. Of course, you have to hope they will have the colors you want but at least you can cut costs that way.

We are getting married at 4ish.. and our reception was to start around 6. So- my question is for those of you who are having a 4 hour reception... you are saying that you will have dinner from 6-7... then DJ will play from 7-10. What will you do for music from 6-7? And what about your GRAND ENTRANCE?? Without a DJ then, who will announce you? Others have said... they will have the regular reception and then just music for the last hour-- does this mean no alcohol? I am just a little confused wink.gif Thanks!!

I didn't think of that! I thought about having an ipod for music during dinner (i'm using the sound system for the ceremony) but that is a good point about the announcement of the couple. I really want that to be a big thing and then our first dance....hmmm. Have any of you ladies who have had your wedding already been announced before dinner or did you wait until after?

I was told that a past bride left her orange and pink decor with Ana to use (including the arch cover) but I'm not sure if I want to bring my own or not just because of price. Her chair sashes are $5 and I've found them for as little as .50 to buy. I am going to have my TA contact her and find out what she has for sure before we go down there. I have also heard about doing the flowers from walmart so that is what we may do

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
