Hello fellow September Brides!

We are getting married on 9.3.2010 at Excellence Playa Mujeres, my fiance proposed to me on the beach at EPM. We loved the resort so much we thought it would be lovely to go back and get married there. :-)

We have been to Mexico 7 times now (yes, we have been toghether for 6 years) and we always travel around this time of year. The weather has been great, last year we had an afternoon shower around 3:00, but that was it. We have gone in October and it did rain, they said that it was the rain season. So hopefully we will all have lovely warm sunshine for our weddings.

I just mailed out my STDs and I emailed them as well with our wedding site info. My dress will be here in February too, can not wait.

I think I covered it all here.

May I ask what you guys are putting in your welcome bags? Are any of you that are having your ceremony on the beach, going to have parasols for your guests? I did not know how many to get, I am sure not everyone will want them and I will not have room in my suitcase...advice?

Smiles,

Shanna

hey supersonic!

Its good to hear that the weather held up for you!!

We are getting married at the gazebo and it gets breezy at my resort so instead of fans or parisols we are giving the women pashminas. we are also putting flip flops, first aid/hangover kits, shot glasses, magnets (that we got at cancun last year), a deck of cards, travel size sunscreen, sudoku puzzles, spanish phrases for dummies, and a welcome brochure in the OOT bags.

I just finished and ordered the brochures from vistaprint!!! I'll post pics when they come in :)

Hi there! Our wedding is 9/12/10 at the Glen Iris Inn in Letchworth State Park in NY. We've done a lot of planning, and so far we've got the Inn for the ceremony and reception; booked a rat-pack band; bought my dress; bought all invites/STDs/decorations for centerpieces, and we're booking a photographer this week! Just waiting on a few more addresses from the MIL-to-be so I can send out STDs.

You ladies are all so organized and ahead of the game. We haven't officially set the date but it will likely be Sept 4th. We are going on site visit tonight to Tulum, MX and will decide on a venue and finalize date at that point. I have all these ideas in my head but haven't been able to get anything going until we have a venue. I am going dress shopping on 2/20 so hopefully the dress I buy will arrive before the wedding!! Our deadline to send out STDs is end of the month.

I have been to the caribbean twice in October and once in June and although it did rain in October it was usually for a half hour and would clear up. Nothing like rain where I am from....it was actually really fun. I am kinda worried about the heat for our guests, but I guess it's better than doing it in July or August.

congrats chill bride!! it is easier once you've done a site visit. you might love a resort but they dont have certain dates available. i have been to cancun in june, august, and sept and sept is definately "cooler"....still hot but not as humid. plus when it does rain, it cools things down a bit. good luck on your site visit and dress shopping!! let us know how it goes :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
