Hey Jen, welcome to the site and to our AWESOME thread haha! As the other girls said, it's probably best that you get out to look for your dress soon but I know that many of the larger stores especially will sell off the rack so if you find the dress for you then you're set! I think you'll do just fine as long as you keep on top of it. And that's awesome you already have 15 guests booked too. It's so nice when people start booking their trips.

I haven't checked the rates at our resort yet, but I know that I did get a good single night rate the other day when I booked the room for my photographer. I have a couple friends who have really been procrastinating about booking so hopefully this will tip the scales for them :)

Welcome! I agree with everyone else… you should find your dress soon. I ordered mine almost 2 months ago and it wonâ€t be in until the end of January.

This site will be very helpful in getting all of your planning done in six months.

Yay for crossing one more thing off of the list! I'm loving this part of the planning- it feels like Christmas whenever I get a new parcel in the mail.smile123.gif
I think your cake topper is very cute!

While many would just suggesting I go 'au naturel' I'm just not sure if that's for me! (and Tracy, pardon my very poor french reference there LOL!).

That and I still haven't picked out any jewelery which I find hard to do with such a vague idea of what my dress looks like on me and what it would match best with! I really hate my pictures of when I first tried on my dress so they really don't help me much! Aaaaaaannd, I haven't even decided if I want to wear a veil (although FI has already requested I not wear any of the styles that cover my face or are the birdcage style!!!).

I guess I'm just thankful that I still have a good three months to figure it out since my dress isn't expected in until February!! Eeeek!
Iâ€m waiting to get most of my accessories after my dress comes in, but I plan to get my shoes and undergarments before the dress comes in since they say you should have them on for your fittings. As for the “lack of presenceâ€, I need something to “lift me up†more than anything. Iâ€m finding that the older I get, the further south they go!

That has to be such a relief that your guests are starting to book… makes it feel more real doesnâ€t it?

I just had to share... My sister was in town this weekend to shop for bridesmaids dresses (she is a bridesmaid). I'm only having a maid of honor and one bridesmaid. My maid of honor will be wearing the same dress. The dress is shown in brown, but we are ordering it in garnet (a deep red color). It is a Dâ€Zage Style 8003. What do you think?

Since we ordered the bridesmaids dress from the same shop as my dress, I was able to put on my dress sample and see how the bridesmaids dress will look next to mine. The surprising thing is that I look much thinner in my dress than the first time I tried it on (I only lost 5 pounds). It was a nice surprise though... more motivation to keep losing weight.

The bridesmaids dress will be similar to the red color shown in the pic below.

I really like that bridesmaids dress- nice choice. It looks great with your dress, too, and that garnet colour is really pretty, thumbs up! Can I just say how much I love your wedding dress, too? It is absolutely gorgeous and you look awesome in it!

So far, so good! I think you have it all covered. Have you thought about favours or welcome gifts/OOT bags at all? Might want to get an idea about what you want for these so that you can order them when you get a decent idea of what your head count will be. Also- have you done a website? If you're sending out invites in the new year you may want to make sure your guests are informed about everything and for me that was the easiest way to keep everyone in the loop and excited.
Keep it up, you're doing really well with your planning.

Iâ€ve lost what I was writing several times due to my terrible wireless internet connection. So, I started typing my posts in word and then doing a cut and paste. .. saves having to retype a whole post.

Anyway, it looks like you are on track with everything. I didnâ€t get officially engaged until August, so I didnâ€t send out my STDs until mid-September. So, I donâ€t think it was too late sending out STDs in August. I canâ€t think of anything else you may be forgetting other than what the other ladies have already suggested.

Oh, as for linen suits, there are a couple of threads on this message board on Studio Suits that you can check out. Sorry, I donâ€t have the links, but you should be able to do a search and find them.

My sister tried on like 20 different dresses and we had it narrowed down to this one and three others. The funny thing is, this BM dress was the third dress she tried on.

Thank you so much for the compliments on my dress. I hope my FI likes my dress when he finally gets to see it on our wedding day .

Were they $$? they look to be.
Thanks. The dress was $200. We had to put down half to place the order and weâ€ll pay the remainder when it comes in. A little more than I planned to pay, but I fell in love with the style of the dress. I am paying for my sisterâ€s dress since she is still in college. My MOH is paying for her own dress.

I haven't checked in awhile but after seeing your post I checked and surprisingly the rates have dropped!! So thanks for bringing that up! I just have to contact my TA now and see if she can do anything about changing the original quote she gave me.

The BM dress is really nice! Your sister pulls it off well, my BMs tried on a dress like that and they felt like marshmellow puffs lol. I love how the red really pops, great choice!

I still need to do this and I saw that you can rent linen suits at Mens Wearhouse, have you tried there yet?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
