Anyone booked a mariachi band on their own and had better luck? We paid $430/hr for 5-member Mariachi band. They were great.

My engagement ring is so pretty I didn't want my wedding band to take away from it. My band cost $200; hubby's band was a family heirloom from his dad, who passed away 20 yrs ago.

I AM A FAT COW Any words of wisdom on how to beat the gorging It's interesting how we cope with our emotions. I'm the opposite...when I'm stressed, angry, upset...I starve. Last year, I was under major emotional duress...purchased and financed three real estate properties during market peak in Edmonton under deadlines, started a brand new job, and planned my weddings--I was a freakin WRECK! My weight fell to 105 lbs (I'm 5'4), my boobs shrunk (I had to stuff my bra under my wedding dress), and my bones started to stick out. I'm alot more sane now that 2007 is over, and my weight is heading back to normal. So, um, yeah...guess I'm don't qualify for the Fat Moo Club, lol.
  5. Eureka! It works! Anyways, normally I don't like big signatures either on forums for the same reason that the forum author mentioned. But the nature of those forums are to debate, share often dissenting opinions; thus, content matter than bulky images. But on BDW, it's different...people want to know about our wedding planning/execution experiences, our lives, our frustrations, and pictures speak a thousand words. I'm all for it. :-)

An observation, I booked half the guests on Grayline Cancun and was charged a bit more than $55 USD per person (due to peso conversion) and then I booked the other half through Grayline (International?) and was charged $55 US. We all got one the tour with no problem, so I'm not sure why the different transaction. Anyhoo, try to book it through the Grayline International if you can so you don't get dinged on the exchange.

Anyhoo, Chilis is sandwiched somewhat by the pool on one side and the beach on the other. There's no walls so depending on where you sit in the restaurant, you might have a pool view or the beach view. As for the iPod, you have to bring your own. They don't have speakers to rent to you.

It takes a long time depending on which city your paperwork gets routed to. We had a mix of jacksonville and new orleans. It's such a crazy process. Just make sure you have as much proof of your marriage as possible for the interview: his birth certificate from canada with both his parents names on it(he has to apply for this from the province he was born in as it's probably different than the birth certificate he has), any joint financial document in both of your names (loans, mortgages, insurance, bank accounts etc), pictures as proof of your marriage and relationship, then all the rest of your immigration paperwork already filed. If you have any specific questions shoot me a PM. I don't mind at all as I know the process can be VERY mind numbing. Yeah they must be really behind, which disctict office did you apply to? Are you online for updates with your case status? We did EVERYTHING without a lawyer. While hiring a lawyer makes it easier on you and you don't have to worry about anything really they are expensive from what I've heard. We did it without one and did everything correct - so it can be done. lol The paperwork took me a couple hours at the most. I'm in the same boat as you--I'm a Canadian in Vancouver, hubby is American from Chicago. Initially, we planned that he was coming up to Canada, so we did all the filing for Canada. Then partway, we decided that I should come down to the US instead, since he secured a good job in Seattle and my job prospects are better in Seattle than in Vancouver. I looked at the requirements to file and (headache)...will look at it again, lol. I heard the wait is about a year.

We got the Mezzanine section, which faced the beach but because it was raining and the screens were pulled down, it didn't matter. As for the i-Pod, we brought our own speaker. I was worried the volume wouldn't carry well but it was more than adequate. As well, because of the rain, there wasn't a lot of people at the restaurant so we pretty much had it to ourselves.
  12. Wow, beautiful ring! re: wearing ring, I don't wear mine as often and there are days that I forget to wear it altogether. BUT I looooove my rings...looks a bit like yours but in gold setting and with one princess cut diamond on each side of the big one. I find it a hassle to wear jewelry, even scowl when I have to wear a watch, but that's just me. But when hubby is around, I make sure I have it on.
