  1. We told Evelyn what time of day we wanted ahead of time in case there was another wedding that day, which we chose 4pm. We did pics before and some after wards with the sun setting and the reception starting at 6pm. Then after the reception ended we all went to one of the bars and hung out long into the night. We planned the details of the ceremony and reception once we got there. Evelyn had an appt schedule for us in our room for the next morning to meet with her and finalize all the details; flowers, food, cake, decore etc. It was very easy! I brought pics of flowers ideas that I wanted with colors etc and she gave them to the florist and they turned out great. We paid $200 extra for te flower arch and it was HUGE and well worth the extra money since somany other things were free or very cheap. Evelyn sent me price lists of everything via email, so just ask for meals, flower prices and wedding pkgs prices if you haven't already. The private reception was not in a restaurant, it was a private room with a glass wall down by the beach over looking the ocean. We paid extra for a screen to view our slide show and DJ. They had audio equipment in the room from the DJ so if you don't get a DJ then you will want to ask about a microphone. The DJ was just for us and was there for 2 hrs during the 4 hr reception. Hope that answers everything! I'm a complete type A person so it was hard for me to not actually plan anything until I arrived but it all went smooth and was very happy with the resort. I was also extremely happy that I didn't have to pay all the extra fees for my photographer, hair and make-up people to come to the resort. Some resorts in Cancun charge as much as $500 for the bride to use her own people and not the resorts vendors. Happy wedding!
  2. The private reception area was right off the beach and was beautiful and private. The head table was against a wall of all windows over looking the ocean/beach. All of our guests sat at round tables with white linens facing us so when they took pictures and looked at us there was an ocean view behind us. We didn't have a lot of daylight left for the ocean view but it was beautiful while it lasted. We had our own staff, private bar and restrooms just for our group. The food was really good and there were many options to choose from. I think it was a 4 course meal including dessert and even though we also had a wedding cake, it worked out well because some people don't like cake. We also paid for a screen so we could do a slide show
  3. There are tons of reviews and contact info on these people on this website. Just do a search and happy reading :-)
  4. We used Ivan for our Feb 26th wedding and couldn't have been more impressed! He was everything we wanted and are so excited to see our photos. Ivan really delivered on the day of our wedding and was easy to email and communicate with up to our wedding. He is definitely recommend by us for any bride as he will work with you to create a wedding pkg that meets your needs and budget!
  5. I booked Norma the end of last summer so her prices may have changed but I paid $200 for hair and make-up ($100 each). Then for my BM's they were only $50 for hair and $50 for make-up so my BM's also did hair and make-up. I did not have a hair or make-up trial and instead just brought pics of what I liked and she picked what would look nice on me. The humidity is so strong that my first choice of hair half up half down was out of the question. I truly loved my hair and make-up! I got so many compliments on each.
  6. I just used Norma Perez from MAC Cancun (she does travel so it's worth an e-mail to her or maybe she knows of another MAC person) and she was fabulous!! She also brought a hair stylist that was also VERY good. I would recommend this duo anytime :-) Her contact info is: [email protected]
  7. I just got married in Cancun and we started using a travel agent then I found better prices on-line that she couldn't beat. So I knew that if I searched the web so would my guests. All I did was create a detailed website using www.mywedding.com and had pages with the hotel info, things to do, resort attire, how to book, different websites to check for pricing and every couple of weeks I updated the prices so people could look and get an idea of how much it would cost them. I did several different trip plans like: Sun to Sun, Mon to Sun, Mom to Mom, Tues to Sun, Thurs to Sun, and Thurs to Tues.We got married on a Saturday so people could come anytime they wanted according to their vacation and budgets. I am a very organized person so this was easy for me to track and update. I even booked the trips for some of my guests and they just paid me directly BEFORE I put it on my credit card and entered their info as the main contact. I also tracked prices for many excursions so I had examples of things people could do and a price idea for them too. We had 35 people come to our wedding and I thought that was a great group size. We even did an excursion to the Mayan Ruin Coba with 22 people and that was a BLAST! Good Luck!
  8. I just used Norma Perez from MAC Cancun and she was fabulous!! She also brought a hair stylist that was also VERY good. I would recommend this duo anytime :-) Her contact info is: [email protected]
  9. My review of Crown Paradise Club Cancun with 35 guests: Hotel- 7; The hotel was clean but some of the rooms needed to be updated. We had some guests with updated rooms that were really nice and others with cracked floor tiles etc. We received a free upgrade to the Crown Club room with a hot tub and mini bar in our room and had been somewhat updated in tile etc. Our room was on an adults only floor in building 2 which was nice. The hotel is close to the airport and easy location to get on the bus and head to nearby shopping etc. Food- Buffet & Snack Bars 6, Restaurants 8; The buffet food was average. They change up the food served at different meal times but from day to day many of the same items were there. The restaurant food was good....only problem is you had to make reservations and could only do it a day ahead of time, so you had to plan ahead and keep hitting redial or walk to the concierge desk and stand in line. Our 35 guests also thought the same as us for the food. The room service was really good and only took about 30 min to get to your room. Bars/nightlife- 7; The bars were average for a hotel with families. There was a pub style bar that we went to the most and that was fun. It's also connected to a dance club which had a great DJ and hosted our after party for guests that wanted to dance more after our reception. If you tip $1 every other drink or $5 to start with your bartender takes care of you with strong drinks all night long. There is also a nightly show in the theater but I thought that was more for the young kids or the 50+ ages. Pools- 8; There were 2 family pools, 1 kids pool and 1 adult pool. We only went to the family and the adult pool. The adult pool was great and had it's own bar and was on the non-ocean side which was less windy and stayed sunny later into the day. Wedding Coordinator- 9; Evelyn was really easy to work with via email before the wedding and usually got back to me within 24 hrs of my email. She was running around a lot the day of the wedding so she wasn't easily found. Ceremony & 4 hr Private Reception with a DJ 10; the value of the ceremony and quality of it was great!! We were very impressed with all that we got for free and choose to upgrade to a private dinner reception which was totally worth the $30 per person fee. We also got a wedding cake for all of our guests and that was only an extra $40, well worth it. We pd extra for the flower wedding arch and that turned out great too! The DJ was pretty good and all our guests danced the 2 hrs we had him for. Flowers- 10; I used the florist that the resort used and they were beautiful! Like I mentioned above we paid extra for a flower arch at the ceremony and it was HUGE and well worth the $150. The BM flowers were only $20 each and GM flowers were $6 each. The Bridal bouquet and Grooms flower was free with the pkg we qualified for because of our guest count per night. Photographer- 10; We used Ivan Luckie (he is mentioned on this forum) He was awesome and well worth every penny!! We were charged a resort fee of $150 to use a non-resort photographer but that is cheap compared to some resorts that charge $500. Below is a pic from one of our guests as I don't have the pics from Ivan yet. Make-up & Hair- 10; I used Norma Perez with MAC cosmetics in Cancun (she is mentioned in this forum). She brought a hairstylist and they were both awesome and not expensive. I paid $200 for my hair and make-up and the BM's were $50 for hair and $50 for make-up.....well worth the money! The resort did NOT charge me a fee to bring either one to the resort. Overall my vacation, wedding and honeymoon was a 10 because of all the many friends and family with us and the awesome excursions we did!!! It was well worth the money and the budget we had to work with for ourselves and our guests. We wanted to stay around $1,000 a person for 7 days with airfare at an all inclusive and Crown Paradise met that. I probably wont stay there again unless they make upgrades to the food and hotel rooms.

  13. It turned out ok for me. I flew Sun Country and the plane was small both ways so they didn't have a closet. They did allow me to fold it in half in the garment bag and use a rear overhead storage bin (which is what the airline told me I could NOT do). Then I just opened the dress when I got there and all was well.
