  1. Everyone's rings are so beautiful! What a fun thread! Here is mine, using stock photo because I don't have my band yet. It is made by Precision Set http://www.precisionset.com and the setting is FlushFit Three Sided Pave.
  2. Hello! I have a question about shipping items to Mexico prior to the wedding. I've read other reviews that recommend FedEx, and my resort recommended I ship any items a month in advance of the wedding. So, my question is this: Some others have said that if you ship items from Nature (ex/ seashells), they can get "stuck" in Customs. Well I don't have seashells to send but I do have Palm Leaf Clutch Bags that will be used for the welcome bags - here is a link if you are interested: http://www.blissweddingsmarket.com/store/000334.htm Certainly these qualify as being from "nature" so I'm just trying to figure out the best way to get them down there. Should I just pack an extra suitcase for them? Or do I face the same issue with Customs if I do that? Do I just need to plan for more time to ship because they are from Nature? Also any other tips & tricks you can offer for shipping is welcomed. Thank you in advance for your help...it is much appreciated!

  4. We went to San Diego in April 2010 to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We stayed at Hilton San Diego Bay, and had an awesome view of the bay and downtown from our room. It was a weekend full of adventures and good food. We had breakfast at Green Flash on Mission Beach, which reminded us a lot of our favorite place in Austin, except for the beachfront view! We went hiking at Torrey Pines State Park. The weather was absolutely perfect and the scenery there was breathtaking. We also visited the zoo while we were in San Diego. Our favorite animals were the Chimpanzees and the Orangutans. They were hilarious. The last day, we toured the USS Midway. We took the bridge tour and learned all about the history and crew, got to see the admiral's living quarters. It was cool! After the tour we were running short on time, and needed to get to the airport to catch our flight. But, Darren wanted to take one more picture by a large sculpture of a sailor kissing his girl, which was right next to the aircraft carrier. We drove around and got parked, and got out of the car. As we approached the statue Darren asked a girl, who was with a friend, to take our picture. We attempted to mimick the pose that the statue was representing, then, Darren took both of my hands, and said he'd had the perfect weekend with me, and couldn't have imagined sharing it with anyone else. Then he said he couldn't imagine spending his life with anyone else. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the best day of my life.
  5. Julia, thanks so much for this review! You are right, there are not many listed here for Capri. Congratulations!
  6. Me again - sorry about the 3 posts in a row. I'm obviously having a rough morning. I just found this on the Dreams website: "Mexico requires that you be in the country at least four business days prior. Saturdays, Sundays and Mexican holidays do not count. Your arrival day does not count toward the “business day†requirement. You must arrive four FULL business days prior." So that answers my question above, that we'll need to arrive Monday. I do not understand why they don't put all of this together in one paragraph.
  7. Hey folks, I have a couple other questions that really is just some clarification on my end: The Dreams website says "Bride & Groom must arrive four business days prior to the ceremony! (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays do not count)." *If we arrive on a Tuesday, and are getting married on a Saturday...this meets the requirements - yes? Secondly, has anyone on the site recently sent wire payment to photographer Cecilia Dumas? If so please Private Message me, I have a question... Thanks so much!

Um, I had no idea that Legal Ceremonies couldn't be performed on weekends. My contract with Dreams says "Legal" for the Ceremony and the date is Nov 14 - which is a Saturday. Where did you find this info? I'm a little worried.....HELP!
  9. Samantha thank you so much for the awesomely detailed review. I got so much out of it. You are a beautiful bride - Happy Holidays!

  11. Please help! For those of you who have already gotten married at Dreams - I have a question. I've heard a lot of people say to not fret over the slow response time from the WC's because most everything can be settled upon arrival on site. My question is - what do you suggest having settled before hand and what should we just not worry about? I'm assuming the obvious items below you should have prior agreement on: Date Time (is this somewhat flexible?) Ceremony & Reception location # of guests Photographer Music What types of things can wait until you are onsite? Here's a list I've come up with and please feel free to share your thoughts/advice on if these should be settled prior: Ceremony decorations Reception decor Food Flowers What am I leaving out? Thanks everyone!
