  1. We got married on December 9th at Lindquist and it was AMAZING. We were the only people on the beach. It was beautiful and Janelle & Ashley (my photographer) did a great job. If anyone wants pictures you can email me -- ashleycharee @ gmail . com. When I have more time I'll post a full vendor review but everyone I worked with was great!

  3. We're also eloping, also cruising and using Janelle. If you pick Lindquist we'll totally be wedding twins!! We're getting married December 9th and I still haven't settled on a photog -- I'm so picky and a procrastinator! I'm really leaning toward Ashley Photography though, we really love her! We're also thinking about EJ (he has been cool to talk to so far, and helped us choose our location) and sometimes I want to bring my own local photographer. I should decide soon though!
  4. I'm doing the same thing as you -- coming in on a cruise and getting married on Lindquist (great choice, btw!!). I don't know for sure yet, but I'll probably get dressed on the ship. I think it will be fun to go to the courthouse in our full wedding attire! But like someone said, your wedding planner should be able to help you with a location to get ready. Are you using a local salon or the spa on the ship?
  5. Welcome! We are cruising and getting married in port in December. We're getting married in St. Thomas, and the prices are very reasonable! We are eloping though, so I don't know anything about group prices. Are you going to hire a local wedding planner? In my experience it's going to be like half off of what hiring the cruise line planner would have been, so that's a good way to save money!

I have been having trouble getting in contact with someone to help with welcome/gift bags for the guests. The person my WC recommended never got back to me and that was about 6 weeks ago. Any suggestions? I don't know of anyone, but hopefully someone else can help you out. I've had to learn that everyone down there is on "island time" and you have to be patient and try to email/call several times sometimes. It's really hard for me, because I'm used to emailing someone and getting a response within a day, so it's hard to wait a week or two to hear back from a vendor, but I guess that's pretty normal for the islands.
  7. Yay Michelle! We're almost date twins! How is planning going for you?
  8. I haven't used her, and I really hadn't heard of her from my WC or anything. I found her website though and loved it, and I'm considering using her because I like her packages. Apparently she recently came from Sarasota, so maybe you can find reviews of her work there? I think she's really new to the islands still.
  9. I'm glad I'm not the only one doing this! The band that matches my e-ring is a diamond band and is very blingy and I definitely want a plain band that isn't so dressy/formal. I'm not really a jewelry person anyway, and I know I won't want to wear all of those diamonds all the time. If you're crazy then I am too!

Thanks! I am getting married in December with Island Bliss. Janelle has been amazing so far, I probably sent her 20 emails before I ever sent the deposit and she was so helpful. She is quick to respond and has great suggestions! Also, her prices are great! Since we're eloping, we didn't really do a "package", so I can't help you with that. But she will work with you if you want anything at all that isn't listed in her packages.
  11. This is a big part of why we're eloping. With the way things are, I just didn't feel right asking a lot of people to fork out money to attend my wedding. We always planned to get married on the beach, and I'm so lucky to get my dream wedding, but instead of having all of our family and friends there to watch, it's just going to be us -- and I love that. It's cheaper for everyone involved, less stress, and more romantic. And we're having an AHR when we get back to celebrate with everyone. You'll figure out something that you and your guests can handle, and everything will work out. Just try not to get too bummed out if people can't make it, and remember that it's about the marriage more than the wedding!
  12. Wow! I'm only six months away and I still haven't settled on a photographer. Congrats! He looks like a great choice!
  13. Hey this looks like a pretty old thread but I want to join in anyway 1. Name -- Ashley & Jared 2. Where are you from -- Dallas area 3. Where are you getting married in St Thomas -- Lindqvist Beach 4. When are you getting married -- Dec. 9th, 2008 5. who is you WC -- Janelle at Island Bliss (she totally rocks, btw!)
  14. I didn't really mean only places tourists don't visit, I'm just trying to avoid the cruise ship crowds. And yeah, I know my planner can help with this. I still have a few months though, and I'm just trying to get ideas. I'll talk to her about it when we get closer. I've thought about the boat charter -- that's probably on the top of my list, though I was hoping to save some money... Parasailing would be fun, we should totally do it in our suit and dress! haha. Anyway, thanks for the great ideas! Keep em coming
