Sparklers! (Reception, First Dance)

Thanks for advice!  Ya, no sparklers on the plane.  If I were allowed sparklers on the plane I wouldn't even think twice.  Dollar store carries them.

@ I am going to make a tag for each sparkler.  It will say,

Let Amor Sparkle

light our first dance

June 20, 2015

A&B

I was thinking of having them at a table with a sign that says "Please join us for a sparkling first dance" or something like that.

We'll probably tell our bridal party ahead of time so that they can make sure people are on the ball for this.

@

Will it be dark yet at the beginning of the reception?  Oh you are a December bride so it probably will be ;)

hmmm...I thought about it and I think what we will do is have the bridal party = 10 people equipped with lighters and then they start lighting everyone as they form a circle.  people will probably need 2 or 3.

It seems picture perfect in my head...but I could see how the circle might not be so perfect if people have to re-light.  lol

We have about 40-50 guests so I think that with 10 people lighting them it should be fine.  Once people have their sparkler lit they can light someone else's too.

I'll def. share the template once it finish putting it all together.  :)

@@veryvalentine I've been wanting to do this as well but not sure how feasible it is to get sparklers so thanks for starting the thread!

@ thanks for the tip on asking your photographer, I'll see if he can get some for me.

Do you guys think you can light them by having lit candles (bigger ones) say maybe a few or one on each table then use those to light the sparklers? The candles would have to be in a bigger hurricane vase so they stay lit. If outside and windy, it may be hard to get a lighter lit!

I've read, because of course I googled, "how to light sparklers for a send off"  and they said that it was easier to light sparklers using another sparkler.  Matches would require you to be too close to the sparks, a lighter works as well.

I contacted our décor girl from Love and Lace and she sells the sparklers for $3cnd each.  ouch. They are 45cm long though, so we may only need 1 per person as it might last long enough.  That's like 100 in sparklers :(    ugh.

Oh how awesome! @ Maybe we should ask tygrrlily how she coordinated the lighting!  :)

Are you going to have a flower girl?  and or ring bearer?  Because I just got the cutest little basket and flag for them from David'd bridal but you could totally use it after me since I won't really need them and your wedding is after mine.

I think it says here comes the bride!  I'm saving all my wedding stuff for my sister so I would let you borrow if it is of any use to you!  You've been so helpful to me with my planning and stuff.  :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
