Hey!

Would it make more sense to go ahead with the free sweet package, and just add the costs for cake, bouquets, champagne..etc? Or am I better off going with the silver/gold? I don't recall Valeria e-mailing me individual costs for add on's. Does anyone have this info to share. It would really help. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had figured out the best bargain out of all three.

I'll have to dig up the costs in my files somewhere - PM me with your email address and I can send it to you.

Personally, I don't think those packages are worth it...

I think they only include a cake for two, if you get the Gold package you get some photographs, but if you are going to use an outside photographer that is of no use to you, then things like "personalized towel art" and "chilled champagne" which I think they do for you no matter what. The blood test is included on the Gold package, which I need to check on, but I believe it was in the 200 dollar range for both of us to have our blood tests done. So I think if you add it all up itâ€s not really worth it to buy the package. You are staying in a Casita and for at least 7 days, right? You also need at least 5 other bookings in your party at a minimum of 3 nights. If not, you don't get a "free" wedding package. Hope this helps! (I'll try to find the prices on the blood tests for you, or you can e-mail your wedding coordinator)

Thanks so much girls. I won't be needing your help with silly basics anymore. I'll save my questions for you ladies on the hard stuff smile120.gif. I've been on the computer all day and learned lots.. Still, a big thanks for the friendly offers. By the way, I'm going with the free wedding package, and i'll add the other amenities. Plus, we're having a symbolic ceremony with about 25 people I think. Valeria is the coolest, & she's been very responsive so far.

Just thought I'd share this e-mail I received from Valeria today. Bummer, cause I'm looking into having my ceremony in the casita gazebo cause it's so beautiful. Guestlist is not confirmed yet, but still a bummer. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. shots.gif

Dear Linda,

About the Casitas Gazebo, the reason is that Hurricane Dean made the Beachy area of that Gazebo smaller, this was last August, the guests are sitting surrounding the Gazebo and still there is not enough room for more than 15 people seated.

If there aren't more than 20 - 25 we can have them all standing up.

Sincerely Yours,

Valeria Martinez.

I know DW has tons of travel agents, just wasn't sure if they put girls going to the same destination with the same group of agents. How far are you in your planning? What exactly is the mexican donkey cocktail thing they offer... whats with the donkey? Are you having any of the musicians Lomas offers? I'm so excited to have found other EDR brides-to-be as well! -Holly

Hey Brandoo! I was originally set up with Shirley Light- who I loved- and then she left to start her own travel business and now I'm with Sue Allen- Sue is very good- answers within a few hours- has done tons of different kinds of travel quotes for guests- she isn't quite as personable as Shirley -but she's good at her job- we have been satisfied so far.... There are lots of girls doing the mexican donkey cocktail thing-- I'm not bc we have different guests coming in on different days--I'm adding the "white glove mexican cocktail" right after ceremony (while we are taking pictures, etc), and then having the "free" dinner/reception at Fuentes, then doing the chocolate fondue party after dinner- we'll do the cake cutting at the chocolate party thing.... We aren't having a rehearsal dinner- I'm kicking FI out of the room Thursday after breakfast- and he is "moving" in with his boys until the wedding Friday at 4PM- I think the boys are going to Cancun on Thursday and us girls are thinking about Cozumel.... It'll be fun to have 24 hours with just the girls in Mexico-- a little side girls vacay! :) - Send me messages if you have any qustions or cool ideas! :)---- All the girls here ROCK :)

Question?
Since I have no choice but to include my photographer in my guestlist,
am I expected to cover the cost for my photographers 2 or 3 nt stay @ the hotel, in addition to the extra costs for my private events? Wondering, will it be less than or greater than $500. This is nuts! this_topic_sucks.gif

I'm paying the $500 fee-but my photog is splitting the fee with me (ie she took $250 off of my package) -- I confirmed with Valeria I won't need to get her a room or a guest day pass since I am paying the stupid fee... But it did help for the photog to pay half- I'm going with Cancun Studios- I get 5 hours, 200 pictures, a CD that has all pix/negatives, a website where my friends/family can view 100 pic, and a photo album...for $1700 (regular $1950 but minus the $250 for resort fee) - I think our deposit to book was only $250... which was added to our balance for package.... She had more expensive packages and cheaper packages.....

Wow, shannon that is so nice of your photographer to split the fee. I checked out their link. Nice work and nice photographers I see..
I shall contact them as well. If you don't mind me asking, who did you book with? Thanks for the post.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
