The things we go thru for beauty!

I may get my nails done early January to get used to them, and just get a fill a day or two before we leave!!

can't wait to get them, I used to always wear nails but not always practical in my line of work :)

I think I will get a french manicure for my toes too, instead of a color.  Not sure yet -- yes I am considering this stuff now (haha 99 days till we leave!)

Oh i've been considering these things since like 3 months ago haha. I wanted to get shellac but when I get them removed I pay the price because my nails keep breaking for about 3 months until they grow all out. I'm not a big fan of fake nails because I type a lot at work and I find the nails get in the way haha. I love how they look, just not how they feel :P

That sucks that shellac kills your nails.  It kills mine too but they don't break off like that.  I only do shellac on my toes for tropical trips as I feel the sand eats the regular polish off and I want them to look their best!

You know what I used to do -- I would get shellac on my nails and have like a french manicure look, but no tips added.  Even though my nails were short (can't see the nail from the backside of my hand) they appeared much longer because of the french manicure.   I don't like the nails long either, for the wedding I will get tips but I will have them as super short as they can go!

@@calgarybride2015 one of my best friends is really good with nails so I was thinking either getting her to make me a french manicure the day before the wedding/go to the salon over there/or just suck it up and get french shellac. They look nice but i have to brace myself for the months of frustration afterwards (they will actually break where the nail is still attached to the nailbed so they can be quite painful). I think I'll get a nice pink on my toes to make them fun and because my toes are very small and look ridiculous with a french pedicure haha.

That would be great if your friend could do them!

Our spa is already so pricey, my little ladies across from my house do such a good job and are so cheap!

Have you heard of those jamberry nail stickers? I have friends who rave about them.

No! Lots of people have never waxed! I don't want to throw too much info out there but I get everything waxed from the waist down haha. It's actually not as bad as people make it sound

I think I'm more scared of those double dipping stories in other countries. Can't recall which one this early in the morning lol.

Yeah that would be kind of gross. Where I go they separate the wax they will use on me

Honestly I just started waxing below the waist this summer and it definitely was not near as bad as I thought it would be. I have now continued to because it is just easier! I have even gotten a few friends to do it now!

As for my nails, I think I will be doing Shellac French on my hands and color on my toes. I haven't decided if i will shellac on my toes, or just have them do my own color that I bring with me to do touch ups if necessary.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
