Only thing ever gets waxed here is eyebrows. Too darned scared to death for anything else!! lol  I tried threading on my eyebrows and the reaction was so bad.... never again! lol Even the waxing takes 2 days to clear up. My skin just hates stuff.

I didn't like threading, I thought it hurt more!

hehe I would hope most separate it now ... I am sure I read an article awhile back how it was transmitting diseases around with double dipping.  I went to look now and can't find it, but I am SURE i read something before.

Ew, yeah I can only imagine haha.

The first time I got mine threaded I got a lot of little pimples but now it's not so bad, I only get a few and I don't even do them that often, maybe once every 3 months haha.

thanks! I'll look into it because I love the look of shellac

Me too. I can get it to last about 3 weeks so I usually do a couple together but then I pay for it for about 6 months afterwards. My nails are total junk. But the Nailtiques is worth it. My sister got me onto it because she had done the exact same thing with the gel nail manicure. It's a gel protein. You put on 2 coats the first day, then one coat each day for the next 4, then take it all off with non acetone remover and start all over again. At the end of two weeks you will see a big difference. Bugs me that they can't come up with a product that won't destroy your nails because a regular manicure just doesn't last long enough, and to spend the money once a week is a luxury I can't afford. I'm still trying to work out a pattern for manicures/shellac and the Nailtiques. I'm using it now because the general anesthetic and all the drugs have totally destroyed my nails and there is already a difference after only 2 days.

I only wax my eyebrows and upper lip, both areas get really red after but thankfully no breakouts! But the upper lip is pretty painful when they rip the strip off, LOL.

I'm thinking of geting a brazilian prior to the wedding, but if my upper lips hurt that bad, I'm not gonna survive it!

I do a brazilian only before going on vacations. True, it isn't exactly a pleasant experience, but if you go to an aesthetician who knows what they are doing it really isn't that bad and it is over quickly. I went to one once where it hurt so bad I almost threw up (I think the wax was not the right temp), so my best advice is to ask someone you know for a referral. Oh and take an ibuprofen before. I think the pain is worth it when I know my bikini line will be exposed every day for a week. Honestly, it isn't the pain that keeps me from doing it regularly - it is just because I don't want to spend the money on it :)

I've only waxed my eyebrows, been too chicken to try anything else. I want to try Brazilian before the wedding, but I'm super scared! I've heard horror stories!

Ugh, hurt so bad you almost threw up!? Good advice on taking aspirin before going. One day I will muster up some courage...lol

For me it's not the pain, it's more people seeing me lady parts lol

What is funny is that I am a nurse in obstetrics/women's health and I see lady parts everyday and I tell these women 'we see them all the time, no need to be uncomfortable' but I am no better hahah!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
