What Are You Doing For Your Guestbook?

Recommended Posts

We did a Polaroid guest book at my first wedding and it was great.... Except for the drunk comments that started being written after the bar had been open for several hours! They wrote right in the book and then added the Polaroid photos in the book (I had pre-placed photo corners) and expected people to write nice messages beside their picture. Not sure if it was because the average guest was 30 and taking full advantage of the open bar but let's just say Grandma never looked through out guest book following the wedding!

I'm doing a similar postcard guestbook. Instead of postcard size, I'm using invitation card size. I'm planning to scan the cards and upload them as pictures into a photo-guest-book afterwards.

I have upload some pictures of the invitation cards here: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/76802-elsas-arthurs-wedding-rprm-20141208/?p=1867696

LOVE that idea....

i almost wonder if I could add something like that to the back of my postcards... like a one liner where they fill in the blank at the end.. hmmmmmmmmm     Gives me something else to fill the next 5 months with :)

Oh for sure! Some other questions we thought up:

- What do you think we should remember most about our wedding day? What will you remember most?

- Give us some ideas for a date night

- what makes us a perfect match?

- what should we focus on during difficult times?

- who will cry while watching the wedding video in 25 yrs?

- which wedding gifts will we use first?

- how should we spend our 1st anniversary?

We're combining a photo booth and guest book. We are thinking of bringing a tiny portable printer which connects to the camera wirelessly. People print a picture they like and sign it :). It was cheaper than getting and instant camera, and that way guests can print the pictures they really like :)

I am doing a Polaroid guest book.  I wanted to have a photo booth, but my resort will charge an extra $800 for the company to come in.  So we decided on a Polaroid book.  I have 45 guests coming and want people to feel like they can take a photo, but also keep a photo.  Or can come up multiple times to sign the book and take pictures.  For 45 people how much film do you think I will need to get?

I would atleast make sure you have 1 per guest.. although I am sure some will do as a couple. So maybe have 2 per guest for the fun ones - 90 total?

  • 2 weeks later...

I was thinking about seeing where we can rent a Photo Booth but I know the resort will charge us that outside vendor fee. I am checking with our photo company that we are using (through the resort) to see if they have this available and for how much as this wouldn't be considered an outside vendor just an additional service. I would love something that incorporates fun photos and comments/advice!

Our resort photog offers it at $600 for 2 hours. Ouch. We have considered doing our own as we have a camera and tripod. Fiance's cousin did one for her birthday and we figured we could ask to use the props. This wouldn't be our guestbook, just for fun. Fiancé is still asking for the disposable cameras lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
