I came across this picture and thought it was pretty funny!!  This is exactly how I feel now.  I especially love the tiny black dot for work and the "Look at my sparkly diamond" - sometimes when I'm driving, I just stare at my hand haha.

I thought planning a destination wedding would mean that I would avoid a lot of this thinking - boy was I wrong!  I swear I lie in bed before I fall asleep thinking about OOT bags, linens and room bookings.  But with destination weddings, I'd probably add a couple of things:

- What if no one comes to our wedding?

- Why hasn't my TA replied yet?

- Is it worth it to pay the vendor fee?

Anyone have anything else to add? :P

I have wedding related nightmares sometimes if I'm doing any wedding planning/research before bed.  I wake up and tell my fiance about it and he looks at me like i'm crazy. I'm definitely not going to miss wedding brain after the wedding is over.  Only 37 more days of planning and then finally I get to enjoy all the hard work that's been put into it all....in the end it will all be worth it is what I keep telling myself.  Eloping sounds like the way to go now....lol j/k

What if my guests hate the wedding and are mad that they paid all this money to come all this way?

Will I mess up my vows?

Will it rain on my wedding day?

Will everything go smoothly at my resort?

A Lot of these things I can't control but I still want everyone to have a great time and I'm such a planner and organized person that I can't help but try my best to make it as close to perfect as possible.  I just need to learn to let things happen and I can't control everything.

I work with someone that has developed an ulcer over planning her AHR!!!! Different cultures and there are certain seating requirements, etc. I like the driving and looking at your hand!! lol That's funny! I've been married almost 3 years and I still look at my hand!!

We had so much that went on with our planning that I would get home at night and rattle off to my other half about the things I found and looked at and thought about, etc. etc. Well one night he looked at me and said "Can we please talk about something else?"  I actually asked him why???? lol  Guys can be such dorks when they want to be!! lol

What about: 1. what if it rains?  2. what's taking the resort so long to reply? 3. I hope my dress gets here soon  4. how am I going to transport all the OOT bag stuff? 4. I thought DW were supposed to be cheaper!! lol

@@NJBride2014 - Haha my FI keeps asking me why we didn't just elope whenever I start asking him for his opinion :P

I understand about how you feel about wanting to make sure everyone has a great time.  I'm a big planner this way too, and I find myself really stressing about it.  But as you said, things will happen.  Also remember that everyone going is going because ultimately they love you and your FI :).  And you'll all be in Mexico!  It will be amazing - I can't wait to see how your wedding turns out!

@@acw271011 - An ulcer!! That's extreme but I can completely understand! When we were narrowing down our resort I was SO stressed I couldn't sleep and all I could do was read review after review.  Haha I've given up even telling/asking my FI things unless it directly pertains to him.  I made him turn off the TV so I could get his opinion on bow ties and it was like pulling teeth.  We bought our groomsmen pants and his white pants for our white party this past weekend and it was a huge ordeal haha, so I think he's off the hook for a while now!

And rain - ahh.  I've refused to even consider rain ;)

Love the extra thoughts!

My fiance sounds a lot like your fiance.  He's so over me asking him what to do about this that and the other, that he is just letting me handle everything from here on out. lol  I tell him when he gets to the resort and sees how much work actually went into it he'll know exactly just how much I really did.  He just thinks its an email here and there, no its a lot emails to several vendors and then research, contracts, payments etc.  My living room also looks like a wedding factory and it keeps multiplying the closer we get to the wedding.  As for the groomsmen outfits we also bought them their pants and that was not fun trying to buy pants that will look good on 5 guys who are built completely different.  Now we have to make sure they all fit but that's another headache and my fiance should be handling this but again its like pulling teeth to get all the guys over to try them on.  Last night I made my fiance try on his suit with new shoes and tie and he whined the whole time lol I was like don't you want to make sure everything looks right and fits good before we are in Cancun.  I don't get guys sometimes.  I'm usually not this demanding and crazy I'm actually really chill and go with the flow but this last month is really making me stressed.     We were also thinking of doing a white party for our rehearsal dinner but scrapped that idea that would be another headache trying to explain to all our guests to wear white.

@tygrrlily  You changed your cover pic!! How come you didn't post your pics from Mexico? Didn't you have engagement photos done? Will we get to see them???

Yeah - with the kind of summer we've been having I don't want to think about rain anymore either!! We were in North Carolina just over a week ago and out of 9 days I think we had 3.5 nice sunny days. It rained the rest of the time. We camped with our trailer and our camp site flooded. Twice!!! They had to come and dig a little ditch to try and get the water to drain!! We were in upstate New York for the long weekend and we had a huge thunderstorm on Friday night that scared the you know what out of me!!! Then last night coming home, we had to do the detour because of the Burlington bridge stuff and we came through on the 407 about an hour and a half before Burlington flooded!!! Give me a break!! We're booked for labour day weekend extra long and I'll bet you it rains the whole time! And I'm looking out the window at work right now and it's getting ready to storm again!!!!!

Our Fiances sound totally the same!!  He was complaining so much when trying on the pants. I told him to do it once, get it over with, and we wouldn't have to worry about it again.  I'm actually not going to worry too much if they look good on our groomsmen or not as long as they fit haha - so we'll give them the receipt in case they need to exchange the size, but that's it. And they can get them altered however they want.  My FI is fairly picky with his own suit, so luckily that's one thing I didn't have to push him to do.  I just ended up ordering him the suspenders and bow tie I liked after he gave me his barely looking nod of approval haha.

He's always like what are you doing on your computer? And I'm like planning our wedding! haha... the worst is when people ask him how wedding planning is and if it's stressful or not, and he's like "nope, it's great. Easy" and I give him the dirtiest looks imaginable :P.

I really wanted a White Party so I'm pushing for it.  My mom is telling her friends who are coming, and she's already bought clothes for my dad and brother (haha women).  I put it on our website and I'm sending out a passport pre-mailer that has it emphasized in there too.  I'm also probably going to bring some extra white things for people that forget

Yes, this summer has been completely disappointing with the cold weather and all of the rain - This whole year has been a pretty bad one for weather actually. Definitely makes me look forward to Mexico even more!  Your driving/flooding story sounds awful! We were actually glad we ended up just staying in town this weekend because of the whole Burlington bridge fiasco/detour. And it was kind of a nice peaceful long weekend. Definitely hope the labour day weekend is nicer - esp. because I think you go in for your surgery right after that?

Haha there's nothing really to it other than a party where everyone wears white :P.  I love the way it looks though, and I think it's fun to have a themed party.  We're having our welcome white party on the beach - and we're going to get a cigar roller. I love this image:

Shoot - I can't see the pics here because of our restrictions. Have to wait until I get home tonight. I really want to see them!!

Yep - confirmed date is Sep 11th @ 9 am. Have to go in on the 10th in the afternoon. They blocked 4 hours again for the surgery but he's hoping we're only about 3 this time, or maybe a little less. Fingers crossed. Another issue has come up that we're hoping doesn't delay the surgery. I had tests done last week and get the results on the 13th. We're hoping it's just something they can work around, or have somebody extra in the OR to monitor but it's breathing related so we'll see what the specialist says next week and go from there. Hubby is so pragmatic sometimes and is good at keeping me grounded. He just said fine - if we have to delay a bit then we'll just work with it. Here's hoping.....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
