What Can We Bring Into Mexico?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! Are we allowed to bring matches into Mexico? I know they said we can't bring sparklers, but I can't find anything about matches. Also, I assume bottles of aloe, hand sanitizer, etc. are okay to bring in (they're for my welcome bags). If anyone has any helpful info, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I think as long as you pack the aloe/sanitizer in a checked bag, you should be good.  I've seen some suggestions to wait to assemble the bags until you're in Mexico, similar to wrapping presents.  TSA likes to go through them haha.  No clue on matches!

Great question!  I was wondering about sparklers and I think they would be super cute in pictures.  Could you buy them there?  I read somewhere else you just have to make sure you have receipts for everything and can't bring in over a certain $ amount of items.  If you are using a TA I would ask them.

Matches are only permitted in your carry on and limited to one pack per traveller. Aloe is fine to pack in your checked baggage... And sparklers are a total no-no.

Does anyone know if you can have sparklers at your wedding in Mexico?

Confirm with your resort but most are Ok with Sparklers. You can usually buy them from your wedding department at the resort as they are a prohibited item by the FAA for air travel. If not you can likely buy them at the local Walmart in Cancun.

i am hoping that we can bring our own sparklers... i found a website where you can buy a pack of 10 for $1.00, and they are made differently than the ones you use during 4th of july etc... they are specifically for wedding photos - the way they burn, etc. my resort charges $2.00/sparkler!!!

sad day! http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/prohibited-items

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
