Hey everyone! - We are having a "small, intimate" ceremony at EDR in Mexico--- approx 20-25 guests will be there -def no more than 30....We aren't having anyone "stand" up there with us-- we are kinda considering all of our guests our wedding party--and have informed the photog we, of course, want pictures w/ just me and groom but also want all of guests on lots of the pictures- in "formal" pictures and in "fun" pictures...

My FI thinks I'm being "controlling" -but I know I've heard of people doing this-- can we ask the guests to wear to the wedding, clothes that have similiar or compatible colors?!?!

We are mailing a tourist book to each house that is booked for wedding in March- w/ travel tips and wedding itinerary, etc -to get everyone excited... -can I put in there to please wear white, turquoise blue, red, or yellow- to the wedding?- is that too much? -if not, how would you word it?

Thanks for any help!!

I think it's fine. You are giving them enough color choices. I'd clarify it a little. If I was a guy I'd wonder if khaki pants with a red shirt is OK or if I need to get white pants. I think allowing khaki pants is good, because most guys already have them. If they had to go buy white pants, they probably wouldn't wear them again.

The occasional guest might get upset, but also a lot of guest will love it. They will get great pictures out of it too.

I agree, I think it's a great idea and you are offering them enough colors to choose from and they aren't not off the wall colors so they should be comfortable in what you have selected.

But yeah make sure you request it in a way that isn't demanding and more fun and exicted like explaining the theme, etc...

Awesome- thanks guys!! - yes, I was definitely picturing the guys in khaki pants--- awesome- I told my FI I was going to check with my other brides-- that he was already out-voted-- I think most of his boys/friends will be glad to have some direction with what to wear- hehe...

For us, I know some of our guests would have been annoyed by it. I can hear them now complaining about leaving the country to go to our wedding and then being told what to wear when they got there. Everyone probably would have done it though, but not without some grumbling.

If someone asked me to do that for their wedding I would totally be into it, DH would probably talk bad about it and only do it at my urging...lol It's your event so if that's what you want go for it, asking in a nice way of course.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
