Dreams Riviera Cancun 2015 Brides

Recommended Posts

The wedding coordinator usually doesn't have much contact with brides until 3 mos before the wedding.

I can't speak to having issues because my wedding is still too far out.

David, with Wedding Reservations, is pretty quick with replies.... but, if your gut tells you to look elsewhere, go for it.

I'm considering this resort but the WC doesn't help you plan your wedding until a few months out? Would they be able to let me know how much everything costs? I'm thinking of using the complementary package for ceremony but I'd really like to customize a few things for the reception...

From what I understand, that is kind of how it goes anywhere because resorts have a wedding, or a few, almost daily.

They email you a budget planner (this is an interactive excel sheet with prices for everything), a catalog (photos of cakes, bouquets, decor, etc), and a few other things that I can't recall. I actually requested all of this information from David (with wedding reservations) before signing my contract - I wanted to make sure this was the best resort for us and our style and vision.

I would also suggest working with a travel agent. They can give you advice and first-hand experience about the resorts and locations (they have usually been to almost every resort). They can also give insight on their experience working with the resort and WCs from their end, and from their other clients' experiences.

I hope this helps.

@@ChicVivi I haven't heard the greatest things about their services...very sketchy. I'm going with a local TA that I can meet with face-to-face (which I have!). She is a Dreams-certified agent and she's getting us lots of perks. We went with Apple Vacations packages which include free airfare for 1 for every...idk maybe like 10 or 11 people? We already have about 30-35 booked and are expecting about 10ish more so it's been working out well!

I talked to several TAs before making my decision. You have to kind of interview them, how is their website? Email/phone responsiveness? Experience in general and with destination weddings? Your guests will be booking with them and you want the experience to be as easy as possible for them! So don't be afraid to shop around.

Hi guys! So weirdest thing happened to me. I spoke to a TA and she advised me that Dreams Resort is being sold out and that they will be going through major renovations fall of 2015. She advised me to pick a diff resort bc it's more than likely they will be closed during this time :( :( ????????????! So then late last night I get an email from David at reservation stating that the dates I was looking for was available. So now I'm confused I replied back to David and the TA still waiting for a reply. Has anyone heard this?

First off, congratulations everyone!

Just wondering about music offered among the Dreams packages. Has anyone looked into having a live band? If so, what companies have you looked into?

I like the live band experience and is afraid the Mexican or the Caribbean trio is not going to give off the same effect.

What are you guys doing for music? Also, for those who are having their reception on the beach, do you think its going to be uncomfortable (hot?) once everyone starts dancing on the dance floor?

We just want an enjoyable experience.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
