Anyone Else Having Trouble Choosing A Resort?

Recommended Posts

Did they inform you where they typically hold the receptions at for Generations?

Do you know if they are doing the beach beds at Generations…something picky I know but my fiancé and I really enjoy those.

The receptions will be held at the restaurants or possibly on the beach like they do at the sister properties. There were Bali beds on the beach but none yet poolside. They did have the submerged tile beds/loungers in the pool. The 1st floor suites had jucuzzis and the ability to swim out into the pool.I also think they had the tile bed/lounger.

Thanks so much!!  I just e-mailed our TA to get more information on prices.  She is going to kill me considering we put down a $200 deposit but I just want to make sure we are choosing the right resort!

@@girlinthecity97 thanks for the info! I am also considering EDR but am also considering AS, EDSS, and Now Jade.

Did the EDR seem to large for a destination wedding group to you? I'm afraid it will be hard to get everyone together since it's such a huge resort. Also, I've read complaints about the beach. Thanks!

Hi @@KaraEbeth - Yes, EDR is really large! So large, they used golfcarts to take everyone around during the site visit.  Granted, the group touring was really large and part of a bigger event (Bride's Dress Rehearsal), the couples we met who stayed there said it was so large they hadn't seen all of the resort.  They said they saw more on the tour than during their stay.  I think it is perfect for the couple who wants to meet up with their guests at certain times of the wedding weekend or bump into people here and there.  If you want more of an intimate feel without potentially feeling on top of each other, I think AS is a better fit.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
