Hi Ladies! We will be having our reception at Blue Venado as well! We originally were going to have our ceremony and reception at Xcaret. But after a site visit, we ended up loving BV for the reception.

Has anyone chosen their menu options already? We were able to do a tasting but still haven't been able to decide on final options but they said that can be decided later anyhow:).

Yay! Another BV bride!  I am taking a big risk, as I am actually not planning to visit the BV until a couple of days before my wedding. (Yikes!)  However, I feel very confident that with my awesome planner at the helm, reviews, and pictures, that I am making the right decision.  I would like to have some of the food reflect our Caribbean heritage, but I would rather the BV do the food that they are really good at, rather than try to make food that isn't as familiar.

Hi Ladies, i'm having my wedding at BV, the deposit was made today. Our date is Nov 08, 2014, it's a little over 14 months away, it gives us enough time to pay and plan for it :) SVD cards went out about two month ago and soon as I know the resort/town houses/condos where I would like our guest to stay I will be sending the invitations, hopefully around Thanksgiving or Christmas. Iâ€m giving guest enough time to plan for this event. I know people plan their vacations one year in advance and I want them to keep our wedding in mind when planning other vacations. Erica from weddingsinplaya.com is our wedding coordinator and sheâ€s been so awesome and helpful. Sheâ€s been able to work with our budget and has put me in contact with photographers, condo rentals etc. I canâ€t imagine planning a destination wedding without her help. Iâ€ll wonâ€t get a chance to visit BV till the wedding but I trust her opinions. Iâ€m soooo excited!!! I canâ€t wait to hear about your food, entertainment, and decoration ideas.

Hi awhiteside,  I just booked BV but i'm having a hard time deciding on the menu.  What menu are you leaning towards?  Alcohol seems so expensive. We want the premium open bar for all night but it's an additional $80. What are you doing for alcohol? I'm going to ask BV if we can bring our own alcohol, if there is a charge and if we have to get a bartender.

Congratulations Beee! Things are crazy here at work, so wedding planning has taken a partial backseat.  Right now, I've chosen my wedding planner and photographer (flying him in) and am in the process of choosing a DJ and a makeup artist.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
