Blue Venado Brides---post here!!

put them on your anniversary dessert every year!

I was thinking about doing these little birds in our color scheme (maybe a purple and silver), but $60 seems like a lot of money for something I'll never use again.  LOL

Great idea! or make them into Christmas tree ornaments to hang on your tree every year :) You could even get something with the date of your wedding on it and add it to them! That would be cute!

That's what I was thinking but some women I have talked to have ALL their planning done and I'm like whoaaaaah, should I be more ahead than I am? But you are right 7 months is plenty of time. I just know the summer is going get busy quick and before you know it, months will have flown by. The last month did that's for sure!

I'm getting down to the wire (less than three weeks) and I'm leaning toward not doing a cake topper at all (just flowers). Nothing is really thrilling me and I don't want to have a cake topper 'just because'.  (We're also paying for the wedding out of pocket and all of these expenses are killing me! LOL)

I FINALLY GOT IT TOGETHER!!!!

I contacted Daymar from BV, and we are putting our deposit down!

She recommended transportation roundtrip from party?something other (forgot the company) for $180.  if anyone can recommend any cheaper that would be great!!!   Once we get to the location, we'll be riding horses to the actual club, but stopping to do some snorkeling! :) Yeah, pretty awesome.

Our small group will be hanging out on the beach, drinking, eating for a bit, and I'm hoping to sneak off at some point to start getting ready for our wedding.  I'm sincerely hoping that there is some type of full length mirror in the bathroom so I can check to see what I look like before exchanging my vows.   I will be doing my own hair and make up.  Yeah, you can say we're kinda doing this non traditional.  This is what's keeping me cool at this point, it's about us, not about anything or anyone else.

Cocktail hour is in order after the ceremony, while we take our pictures.... then off to town for a pizza party! YESSSSS

Can anyone recommend someone for transportation if cheaper than the rate I was given?  Someone who does symbolic ceremonies?  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Well, I kind of dropped the ball on the entertainment (LOL).  So far, I'm still doing the mariachi band for cocktail hour, and we have a churro cart coming as well as a pinata.  If we have enough time/budget, there is the possibility of getting an acrobat, although I have NO idea what that would look like! LOL  Another fun thing might be a caricature artist, depending on your crowd.

Brownsugarbride, i'm excited for you.. your big day is around the corner :)

When are you planning on breaking the piñata? Will it only be you and your fiancé breaking it?  Maybe children and others? Blind folded?

So excited for the other brides!

Lydia, exciting that you booked the venue. Daymar is great to work with.

How many people are you having again? I think she recommended Party Planet, that's who she recommended for us and we are using them for some décor and the DJ.

P.S - The FI veto'd the mariachi band at this point as we most likely will have closer to 85 coming, not 55 like we originally thought. Crazy how that creeps yp on you. We are going to revisit it come August when the RSVP's come in and if they are still available, we will book them if it's within budget..

What are you guys doing for centerpieces? I am now trying to figure out what to do... I was going to do lanterns but the weight of them in my luggage plus the OOT bags is too much. I was thinking babies breath in spray painted gold mason jars?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
