Hello everyone. Im trying to plan a 2015 wedding in Yucatan, Mexico and have no idea where and how to start on what first and whether to hire a coordinator or is it too soon? I want a large resort with tons of options, adults, a good beach and a private place for a reception. Or maybe an off-site reception. Im looking gor guidance on the next steps or referral s on local coordinators? Thx everyone and congrats to all of you.

hi and welcome to BDW!

I'm a big fan of working with travel agents to help narrow down your search and select a resort. Plus they can help all of your guests book their travel, help you negotiate and navigate working with the resort, and take a lot of stress off your shoulders. Check out Wright Travel Agency - they are experts at destinations weddings, and have a TON of experience with RM. You can find more info about WTA here.

I'm biased towards the Karisma resorts, specifically the El Dorado adults-only locations. Gourmet food, top notch service, and uber-romantic settings. My own wedding-moon was an absolute dream!  If I can share any info about them, please don't hesitate to ask.

Welcome to the Forum astaats83 and congrats on your upcoming destination wedding!!

You will find tons of helpful information here.

As a wedding planner in the Riviera Maya i would suggest you to make a list of all the important things the resort needs to have for you and then check on wedding packages the different resorts offer.

Sometimes large resorts don't have always a fully private reception venue but you need to know that the Riviera Maya also offers wide range of beautiful Off resort locations;

if you like i can send you a list with venues that offer privacy together with all the general information there is to know about each one..

You can send me an email to: [email protected]

Feel free to ask us anything and we will be happy to help

Happy Research and Planning!

Joyce

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
