Megan's June 2013 Azul Sensatori Planning Journal - LONG with LOTS of DIY and PICS

Recommended Posts

Hi girls! So we got back from our wedding almost a week ago and I am so sad it's all over. :( we had the most amazing time and I can't wait to go back! I won't go int detail because I do plan to wrote a review and post the last few projects that didn't make it to my planning thread :) My photographer, Samuel Luna, was amazing and it will take 8 weeks (7 more weeks from today!) to get all the pictures. That seems like an eternity to me but gives me high hopes of them being amazing! If it takes 8 weeks to edit pictures they must be awesome! In the meantime here are 2 teasers he posted (both from our TTD): 400 400

Congrats on your wedding.. I saw how much hard work you put into it and it looked absolutely amazing. How was transporting all of these things? Did you strategically have to pack everything and bring receipts? Any suggestions on how to pack everything would be helpful!

Thanks!

Thank you :) yes I put a lot of work into it and it was all SO worth it in the end! Packing- whew! What a stressful topic lol! Here's the thing- we flew with our son and even though he is under 2 and his ticket was not full price he had the same bag allotments as we did as ticketed passengers. Here is what our bag breakdown looked like: 3 checked bags for free- 1. Wedding decorations 2. Weddings decorations/OOT bag contents 3. Wedding gifts and decorations and all oversized toiletry items like shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen, etc 3 carry ons for free: 1. My clothes and our sons clothes 2. My Fi's clothes, the rest of our toiletries, etc 3. My dress 2 personal carry ons for free: 1. Diaper bag 2. Backpack with any extra stuff We were also allowed to bring the stroller and gate check that for free. Luckily, once we were at the gate, they were checking bags for free bc it was such a full flight! So we checked our two carry ons and all we had to worry about was the baby, the dress, the diaper bag and the back pack! Lucky us! I did bring receipts but lucky for us even with 5 huge bags, a dress, a couple small bags, a baby... We got the green button and were in our private transfer van within minutes! We felt like the travel gods were with us!!! :)

I may do a planning thread once we return.... hey it will give me something to do after all of this!  Just saw your two teasers photos!!!!! OMG you looked amazing can't wait to see more!  and by the way you should definitely continue this on the side, or hey maybe even full time!  You have an amazing talent!  My fiance is absolutely freaking out about how much we have to pack.... and it is half as much as you!  he hates flying and keeps mentioning all the extra weight on the plane....lol

I went a tad overboard with gifts, but we only had a few people to buy for, so we kind of had that luxury.

For our parents, we bought personalized hankys from an Etsy seller: https://www.etsy.com/listing/102051422/set-of-6-wedding-personalized-custom?ref=usr_faveitems

There is also one for my FI and one for our Flower Girl. The Etsy seller that I linked to above was a pleasure to work with! The one I originally ordered from, however, was NOT. Buyer beware- EmbroideryByMelissa on Etsy did not follow through. I'll leave it at that....

We also got t-shirts for the parents, BM, and ring bearer. I designed these and then had them printed through VistaPrint.

I can't find the picture I had of them before I rolled them... Sorry! Instead, here is the file for a couple of the shirts to give you an idea:

In addition to his shirt, the BM is also getting a pair of Armani Sunglasses and the rest of his gift is TBD.

The girls gifts are complete, though and here is where I might have gone a tad overboard ;)

For my Flower Girl, I got similar things:

Also, I forgot to mention that since my FG is one of the only kids, she and her brother (my niece and nephew) will get special OOT bags! I don't have a picture of my nephews bag, but here is my nieces OOT/Welcome Bag:

For my FI, I got him a personalized hanky, I plan to do a boudoir shoot (maybe!), and possibly get him a watch he has been wanting. :)

Also, for Thank You notes, I made my own. These DIY Thank You's were fun and easy to make and wayyyyy cheaper than the ones I saw on etsy. I am a HUGE Thank You note writer, so I made a card for just about everyone. This pic only shows a few and is a crappy pic...sorry!

I think that about covers gifts!

Did you print the thank you notes on your computer or stamp them?  IF you did them on your computer do you have a template by chance that you could share? :-)

Oh my gosh what a great post. I am in love with all your paper products that you designed. They are outstanding! Is there any way you would mind sharing your templates with me? I would love templates for your: - Postcards - Spanish Phrase cards - Koosies - Travel info cards - Thank you cards - Programs I know you had them all printed at vistaprint but what program did you use to design these? If you could send me your templates I would be forever grateful! And dont worry I would defintiely change them around as to not copy your design. Look forward to hearing from you!! • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
