So finally we started booking, I went ahead and contacted crusing weddings and the Travel Planner has been more than helpful! We booked our day Cruising March 16-21 for a 6 day cruise :D

We are on the Carnival Freedom, so i must admit I feel a lot better now. We just have not decided if we should do the ceremony through carnival or through a private planner. Same with the reception. My travel planner has told me that a lot of brides have done it off the ship but I wanted to have a reception that didnt break our pockets(houses dont buy themselves lol) So we are still

trying to figure that part out. All we know for certain is that we want the wedding to be in Key West and on a beach or near water.  We want to enjoy Jamaica and Grand Cayman. The only thing Im hoping is that the spring  breakers are all over the place. :P Any other Carnival freedom 2014 brides?

I am getting married on Carnival Magic on April 13, 2014. I have booked the wedding and a DJ for the reception. It was a breeze! I have heard good things about this type of wedding from a former co-worker so I am excited about my wedding that will be done this was as well. I have an estimated budget of $5,000 including my invitations, dress and everything! The reason we chose this type of wedding is because we can do it all within our budget!

We are platinum Carnival cruisers; 16 and counting :)  We have never had an issue - I agree that some maintenance of the ships maybe in order but Carnival has also responded very well to the recent challenges.  We live in Florida so we hear more than we would like!  We were just on the Dream in January and loved the ship

I guess the worse thing that could happen is that we get a few extra days of vacation

Don't worry; enjoy planning the wedding - chances are very slim that it will affect your wedding

I too am a platinum member with Carnival, but I chose to do my wedding with RC because the closest port is Tampa and RC has the nicer ship. We are getting married on Brilliance of the Seas on March 20, 2014. I too found it difficult to get hold of the Royal Romance team at first, but once you book your wedding they give you another number and answer right away. I too had reservations about booking my wedding on a cruise and not knowing the details until a few weeks before the actual date, but I figure as long as I show up almost ready, they will pull things off for us. I have only read one bad review and heard several people say they would do it again!

Hi ladies! I just had my cruise wedding last week on Royal Carribeam Liberty of the Seas. We did the ceremony in Rose Hall, working directly through Rose Hall Development ( they own and manage all of the properties that hotels and golf course are on, the great house, etc.). I must say that the wedding came out PERFECTLY, working with Rose Hall was a dream. I worked with a coordinator named O'Neisha who was fantastic. However, the cruise part was trickier and confusing at times. Fortunately my husband has worked with RC for years (he lived on ships working for 10 years, too) so I had alot of insider info available that most brides probably wouldnt normally have access too. IE we booked photgrapher through onboard photography company, had the side room In the dining room set up for our dress rehearsal, had OOT bags deliveres to staterooms through guest services/housekeeping. I will say that once you are working with the onboard coordinator its really easy but getting the info beforehand is harder, as is getting info before booking anything. I would love to help anyone who is struggling, especially if you are considering RC simply because thats where I did mine and where most of my info and contacts are with. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have my fiancees help with the cruise planning part! After having been in that position of frustration I would love to share any info I can with future cruise brides. I am also going to reach out regarding the royal romance department with all the improvements they could work on because I know that many brides are not happy with service, so if any of you have suggestions/comments please let me know. Feel free to email me [email protected]

Andreann, The cruise package comes with a photographer and photos and did you have to hire them separately to do your TTD and wedding?? How did that work for you??
We worked through image, the company that owns the photography onboard. It was a short and early shoot because the photographer had other commitments related to ship, but it was great! I wasn't so sure at first since we had never met him before, phillippino guy called Dominador JR Peralta. But the images were fantastic. I would have liked more time, but after ceremony in Jamaica (he came along as well as his assistant) we had some time to get some good shots shoreside. Unless you want to pay for a ticket and stateroom for your own photographer (plus a weeks worth of hours!). It's they way to go. I don't know any other way to get all the shots you want. We paid around $2k to get ALL the images, but they have other packages. I quotes photographers just for Jamaica ceremony and the best deal I found was $800 for two hours. This was a much better value for everything we got. I'd say at least 90 shots are fantastic, and all of them were really good. This guy is supposedly the best they have for weddings.

Have any of you ladies received the upgrade pricing list from carnival yet? I am curious how much the extra flowers and dj are. If someone could email it to me I would soooo appreciate it! I am planning my wedding summer 2014 on the carnival pride but prices arent out yet for summer so I have to wait. Also has anyone done the carnival registry? What did you think of it? I dont plan on doing a large registry thru a store so I wanted to mainly register on carnival so we can get help with the pictures and stuff.

Thanks!

Karen

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
