How to remind guests to book their room

Recommended Posts

I am at the 30 day mark but it is a little different for me, because we are planning a surprise wedding our struggles are still the same. My guest just assume we are planning a family/friends get together and I have sent out 3 reminders.

The struggle is real:hissyfit:

Hi VanessaBB- Just myself, travel agent and the fiance.  I didn't want family and friends to feel obligated or feel that internal pressure to attend.  We understand that money may be tight.  We are fine with those that have committed.  I still have 30 days for others to pay their deposit. We created a website that says come spend Thanksgiving week 2014 with family/friends.

I have 10 booked and should be a few more this week.

Both my parents are deceased and with my Mother passing in 2011 there is still this crazy drama with my siblings.  I have extended the invitation to them and my sister may come, she is like 16years older than me and sometimes a pain in my side.  My fiance has a brother in Hawaii and his parents are divorced mom and dad don't want to be in the same room with one another. His mom is on the fence about coming and his Father is on an oxygen tank.

Your wedding is around the corner are you ready?

Having said all that we are fine with those that can come and we are planning a AHR a month after we return.

Here is the reminder I sent out today

Hello Again-

We know booking a cruise is probably the last thing on your mind considering the cruise is not until November 2014, but we are a month away before the deposit is due.  We wanted to reach out and see if you'll be able to join us.

Many of you have paid your deposit and we want to remind others that there are only 30 days remaining to pay your $50.00 deposit by October 10, 2013.   We want everyone to have the opportunity to take advantage of the discount deposit of $50.00, but if you miss the deadline you still have the opportunity to come, you will have to pay the full $250.00 deposit.

In case you were unaware of the date, we thought we would give you a friendly reminder.

We realize this cruise is a long way from here and that not everyone will be able to make the trip.  TRUST US WE UNDERSTAND!!!!

But if you could be so kind as to let us know either way if we should expect you, please reply to this email with

I'm glad to know that I am not the only one experiencing this lag in booking! When we first sent STD's we had 7 cabins booked right away.  Our reduced deposit expires in 5 days and we are still missing major people - my MOH (who is my aunt) and FH's Best man (his brother) have not booked yet. Our invites are going out next week and I just know I'll be chasing people down.  Grr. :(

Reading this thread has me nervous. My wedding isn't until 2015, but I know how my family operates. LOL I'm on the fence about reserving a block of rooms b/c I don't want to get stuck with paying. It has been a struggle getting some of my family to apply for their passports. I'm praying this will not be a nightmare. We have two guests lists. One is for those that we are sure will be on the ball and the other is for those who just may get a wedding announcement instead of an invitation. Sounds horrible, but I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
