I e mailed my Lisa my WC and told her where i wanted each party to be. I did a site visit so i was able to see where i wanted everything.The same sites you have to chose from for paid functions are the same sites you chose from for the free private functions. They wont confirm that you have the free functions until the rooms are booked. If you e mail Renee and ask her for the sites she will send then. I suggest you chose locations quickly because the resort is becoming really popular and everything is booking quickly. I googled the name of the decor company catalog they gave me and just e mailed them directly and got a quote. www.weddingsandeventsinpuntacana.com that is their website and they have a great facebook page as well!

I sent my save the dates our a year in advance. MOST of my guest are already booked but i am mailing the formal invites out the third week in august after i get them back from my calligrapher. If anyone is in the NY area my calligrapher is AMAZING and really reasonable, I put the RSVP date for Noveber 8th. I figure if people arent booked three months before the wedding then are they really going to book at all? My Wedding is March 8th

I'm piggy backing on KerriAnn5's response. We did a request form some months ago but never heard back from anyone. So when we asked about it we were told that you would only hear back if your request was denied. But I have been telling my fiancée that I really think that it comes down to money. Meaning that if I have the Element Terrace approved with my 55 guests and someone comes along with 100 guests......I am going to get bumped. Now that is just my opinion but money talks. When we visit next week I hope to have a firmer commitment on my locations after we meet with our WC.

 

P.S. I'm a guy....just call me an "active groom"! lol

We sent our save the dates out in early January 2013......a year out from our wedding. In the save the date we had all the information that they needed to book their trip with our travel agency under our contract number. They had until March 15th to make their first payment. We chose to do it this way because it would give us an initial count as to how many people "planned" to come. We also set up a second payment due date for mid September with the balance being due by mid-November. We will send out formal invitations after the mid-September payment which will be four months from the wedding. The way I see it.....if they don't pay by September 15th they aren't coming because their are penalties associated with cancelling after that point due to our contract with Apple Travels. If you provide me an e-mail address I can share the Save the Dates that we chose that people really liked.

I got an e mail stating the time and location of all my private events as well as pricing for each because i extended the time for my welcome party and for my reception. You have to be very forceful with them for confirmations and make sure you keep record of what they send you!

Thanks KerriAnn. We do have an e-mail confirming that the hotel did approved the locations. But I still have my reservations about things. I will get a better feel next week because we will be taking all of our paperwork.

Does anyone have enough rooms to qualify for the free private functions and the 7 free nights? I was wondering how we get credit for the 7 nights free. My TA said that the resort will probably send her a check and then she will give it to me. I heard someone else say that they do the credit at check out?

I have been working with Jasprit at L'escape Destination weddings in Toronto and she has been fantastic! I'm getting married April 10th at HR punta Cana... i'm getting my rates for roughly $1700 per person based on double occupancy.

You should give her a call - her rates are great too :)

 

What are you doing for a photographer? are you planning on bringing one from Toronto? I'm interested in sharing a photographer so i can split the costs with another bride... anyone in? :)

Hi AngBN.... Congrats on your engagement... i'm so happy to see you're getting married the day after me!!!!! I'm looking for a photographer too and i'm trying so hard to keep my costs down but WILL NOT cheap out on my photographer... i'll have those pics forever and want them to be amazing!

I live in Toronto and looking to bring someone down with me... would you be willing to split on the costs for them to fly down?

I'm getting married at HRPC April 10th!!! I want to get a photographer here in Toronto(where i live) and fly them down to shoot my wedding. I'm looking for a bride to share these costs with me. Would you be interested? I have read a lot of the blogs and i'm somewhat concerned with using a photographer i don't know.
