Okay, this is coming from a mother of the bride...I am getting the same response from a lot of people about my daughters DW and I just tell people that I think it's a great idea and that this is a great way to weed out the folks that would only be there because they feel obligated or are out for a free meal and drinks! You should see the looks on their faces! It totally shuts them up! I go on to say that we don't want anyone to feel obligated to go and that we only want the people there that truley want to be there. My daughter wants to be surrounded by those she loves and love her....not a bunch of people who didn't have anything better to do that night! Sorry if I sound bitchy, but I'm all for telling the truth...if they don't like it, oh well.
Very supportive mom I love it

So went to David's Bridal today to try on some dresses to get an idea of type of dress and how it fit my body type. Didn't have any wow moments.it was okay I guess. Guess just not what i expected. Also tried bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dresses. Flower girl loved it. Every dress BM and I liked didn't come in our colors bummer. was kinda awkward because my consultant was just married in January and she is getting divorced already she was kinda down her family not supportive and so on and so on.

I'm up! Heading to Michaels to figure out how I can liven up my STD envelopes. Plus I need to add magnetic tape to the back of the cards so ppl can tick them to fridge.

Gotta keep it moving!

May I suggest everyone that doesn't have a picture attached to their names perhaps put one up if they're comfortable soon. It's nice to have a face to the new friends/ therapists/ wedding advisors. Lol

Michaels 20% off even sale items this week.. AC Moore 50% off one item -- you probably already knew that hhehe

Glad to see people finalizing dates and paying those deposits!! SO EXCITING!

I have been working on my STDs and I am almost done designing them. In the meantime, I am waiting for my magnetic sheets, custom stamps, and pretty yellow envelopes to arrive. I am including save the date magnets, but making them myself because it's ridiculous that most places charge like $2 a magnet! :)

Here is a picture of what the magnet will look like:

I can't wait to put it all together!

Those are very cute!!

That sucks about your consultant!  No worries on the dress hunt - you got time to find THE ONE!

I finally got our invitations made!! Now I feel like I am getting somewhere. I think that they have a good time to send their RSVP back (it is January 31st). The rooms are reserved until February 14th so hopefully people realize that. I wrote it on the invitation itself but knowing people and how they leave things for last minute, it makes me nervous. I feel like at the end of the day, I am going to be the one making all the reservations for my family anyway. I am not too excited about that and I hope that they at least give me some sort of anticipation. :-/ DW are really a lot of work... to think that I thought it was going to be simple.

That is definitely giving people plenty of time to respond.  I am only giving people 8 weeks or so to respond.  I'm also pretty sure we'll be booking all of my FI family. My family is already booked and ready to go, his we'll be dragging.  I thought DW were easy peasy too, they aren't and anyone that says "oh, you have it so easy" has NO idea!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
