I think my FI would also love cuff links.. I still have no idea what he plans to wear on our big day but if it's something that needs cuff links, I will sooo get those for him!.. :o)

I was thinking cuff links as well... and also a special garter...it's not really a gift for him before the wedding but I was thinking about getting a favorite sports team on the garter and surprising him with it when he takes of the garter. But now that you mention cuff links I saw some "team" ones that he would probably like as well.

We are in the same boat with paying for the whole wedding ourselves.....the whole wedding and then some because FI's family is really unable to make the trip on their own so we have taken it upon ourselves to ensure that MIL comes....problem is she has some health issues and definitely needs and escort so along comes future BIL who also cant save money and his GF and it all adds up.....I know it makes me sound bitter but I really do want them to come it's just hard sometimes! Anyways I was thinking something a lot smaller in terms of a gift...like a card and an engraved flask or something like that. I've seen those out there for cheap

Wow...you're alot better than I am.  My brother and his wife can't save $ and although I'd really like for them to go, we are definitely not paying for them.  LOL...but that's a whole different forum, right?  You know, we've bought each other such nice gifts over the years that I don't think an expensive gift is really necessary.  Although, I'm kinda digging the whole boudoir photo album thing.  It's kinda one of those "this is for you..but really for me" type of gifts.  I want to look back 10-20 yrs from now and have a visual of how hot I was (and hopefully will still be even at an older age, ha!).  But...yeah I have to ramp up my fitness routine.  I started doing double work-outs this week.  Verrrrryyyy sore.  Going to the gym twice in the day -including a class, is hard work.  But, its all worth it.

I have done a boudoir photo shoot for my hubby-to-be!! Keeping it a secret has been the hardest part. One friend of mine knows and that's it (she came with me to the shoot for moral support). The experience itself was amazing...the photographer (whom I didn't know beforehand) was awesome; she made me feel so beautiful and comfortable with myself!

I am taking off on a boat on the morning of the wedding and he will meet me at the wedding site later for a first look photo session. I plan on leaving the album behind for him with a card so he can open it when he is alone. I have gently suggested (lol) that he buy me a bracelet that he can have engraved for me to wear with my dress. We are paying for everything ourselves as well, but I think this surprise will be worth it! Heck, it's already bought and paid for!

One more thing...auto saving is the best!! woot.gif

I actually did a bit of a twist on a boudoir session and did a siren session. Yes, the evil mermaids that lure in sailors. Think....topless in 42 degree weather. It was cold (read FREEZING) and only 60 outside, but he is going to LOVE the pictures! I'm going to put them into a "Little black book"...literally :)

I got my fiance this http://www.etsy.com/listing/96369337/special-dates-near-and-dear-custom customized print on Etsy with our important dates: date we met, first date, date we got engaged, and wedding date. It's personal, cheap, and best of all he can never forget our anniversary!! Haha.

If anyone is interested, this http://www.etsy.com/shop/BetweenEverything?ref=seller_info is the Etsy seller (only $24 and then I bought a nice frame/mat at Ikea). If you don't like the date idea, you could get song lyrics, a special quote, memories the two of you have from your relationship, the state/country where you are getting married with a heart where the city is, etc. Lots of fun/cute choices. Good luck ladies!

When my husband and I were shopping for his wedding ring there was two he couldn't decide between so he let me make the final choice. Since I knew he also really liked the other one I secretly bought it for him and gave it to him on our wedding day. That way he has choices and can change his wedding ring sometimes. He loved it! Plus I got the second one engraved with a different message than the first so it had a special message in it. Even with both rings his total ring cost was only a fraction of mine!

I am also doing a boudoir shoot. FI has no clue and would NEVER expect it from me. I am a little nervous about the actual shoot, but looking forward to giving it to him. For those of you who are concerned about the price, I bought mine off a groupon like site for cheap and it has the option of adding hair and make upcheer2.gif

What site did you get it from?

Team Buy had one awhile ago. I think I bought it around Jan/ Feb and it is good until Jan 2013.

I would just do a google search. I think the company I bought mine for has offered a groupon type thing before.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
