Swizzle Sticks?

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies! For our favors for our AHR, we had pint glasses made and want to have them at each place setting at the AHR. FI thinks that it will look silly if we don't put anything in them so I'm thinking of filling them with shredded paper that matches our wedding colors and putting a swizzle stick in....but I can't seem to find any cute ones anywhere! I looked on Etsy but I really can't afford to pay over $200 for just freaking swizzle sticks! Have you ladies done something like this and where did you find your swizzle sticks?

You might get lucky and find some cool ones just on Amazon. I tried looking but I'm not sure what your colors are and how many guests you would need to buy for. Also, have you tried any party supply stores they might have some cute ones, and if you find them locally you won't have to pay for shipping.

I love the pint glasses idea by the way!

I found these on Etsy....http://www.etsy.com/listing/93415404/100-bar-swizzle-sticks-for-wedding

100 Bar Swizzle Sticks for Wedding Reception

$40 for 100 and it sounds like she'll customize the type and color of decoration on the end.

There's also been several brides that have done DIY personalized stirrer sticks that look really nice.   Here is a nice example from Coconoir...http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/78847/coconoirs-planning-thread-picture-heavy/10.  There several like these on Etsy for extra inspiration.

The cocktail umbrella idea is really cute!! I've seen that done at a local wedding before (They had martini glasses rather than pints, but same idea) and the set up looked great at the place settings.  Personally, I don't feel that many people would re-use swizzle sticks, so to put out the extra money may be a waste. The umbrellas are cheap, cute and really convey the destination wedding vibe!

Keep us posted with what you decide :)

I will definitely let you know! I'm glad to get some feedback from someone who has seen that done before - I'm almost 100% positive that's what we're going to do, I just need to get my butt to the store to buy the stuff! I am having bride-itis....is that such a thing? LOL

once, you get the materials, make it a family/ friend get together and do things like the sticks, and any labour intensive jobs as a group assembly line. It'll go faster and a fun time to share and talk over wedding details, so there are no surprises. have fun

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
