I think my mom and I are going to look at dresses over the Thanksgiving Holiday... well maybe - I guess the holiday might make it crazy. Should I make asn appointment?

It depends on the type of shop you are going to. Most (if not all) upscale shops will require an appointment and won't see you without one. Other less pricey stores might let you get away without one. I've always just walked into the "normal" bridal shops I've gone to and had no problem, but this was always during the week...

I agree with Sarah I would definitly at least call the bridal shop to see if they require an appointment. OH and you better bring your camera, and take pics.
Some advice:
Write down the model number and name from the tag of each dress you like. I know when I was trying on dresses it was hard to remember this stuff. Also I was able to take pictures of most of the dresses I tried on (some places won't allow you to) and I loved the dress on when I was looking in the mirror but when I looked at the picture on my camera it just don't do anything for me so I knew it wasn't the "one".

I agree with TammyM. I'd make an appointment unless you're going during the week. You'll get better service this way.
I also brought a camera to see me in dresses and also to take pictures of the tags/prices. It provided much less confusion later.

Oh you'll have so much fun Kashmira shopping for dresses. Think about all the brides that want to try on dresses again after they already have theirs..

OK, I need to be positive. AND I said I was going to wait until I lost 5 pounds (I have no idea why I think it'll make a difference but...) and I have (yay! I got my red "I Lost 5 Pounds" Ribbon from WW) so now it's time to head out to the stores! yikes!
