msncry.gifmsncry.gif  I can not find the website or emails relating to this purchase.  I'm so sorry!

I actually let someone borrow mine and would offer to sell these to you but I'm not sure that I will have these back in time enough for your big day.  sad.gif

No worries soror! I ended up going back to Conch King and ordering that  bowl to hold them in. (I really need to stop ogling over your thread though because I find myself with more and more project to start on - just when I thought I was finish! LOL)

Thanks again and thanks for being so kind and coming back to the thread to help out!

Hi Chanel,

It's me again! Do you remember what size nautilus shells you used? I am going to "borrow" this idea as well! I have been looking at them online but can't figure out what size to get and I don't want to do trial and error!

Thanks!

Soror, I'm going to give you a sisterly STOP ;-) which is easier said than done LOL

Just keep reminding yourself of what YOU and Your FI want, as this site will get you to spend, spend, spend.  I know I was one of them until Hubby told me to "get a grip" LOL

Hey Kisha,

Hope the planning is going well.  We actually did the 5-6inch ones  from http://www.conchking.com/Pearl-Nautilus-Shells.htm purchased the colored sand from https://www.sandsationalsparkle.com/Wedding-Sand-_c_230.html  you can get sample sand from them to match your color before buying 1 pound bags etc.

Thanks so much! You really are so kind for being so helpful. And you're right, this site will give you so many ideas to keep spending. My FH saw all of the boxes recently and gave me a WTF look ! He told me to chill out, I'm already trying to figure out how to get this stuff down there.

I must say that the responses, compliments, and gratitude from the receipt of the OOT bags was AMAZING, to say the least and definitely set the standard for what was to come!!  We gave these out at our Welcome Cocktail

Then the additional compliments from the wedding day was OVERWHELMING as everyone pretty much had to wait until the reception to tell me how nice everything was etc.  followed by the request to do parties, future weddings and a big high school reunion party next year..whew!  Those blue drinks came in handy ;-)

I say all of this to say that 1) when people are traveling to your wedding the last thing they expect is a gift of any sort! So whatever you do, they will be grateful.  2) Many guest don't have an expectation of decor as your surrounding will be Beautiful and actually enough. So any decor that you bring will be in addition to, and give things YOUR touch

Lastly, we had 8 bags (yes 8) total not including my dress and Hubby's suit.  With that said, I packed with a list to know what bag had what, didn't get a flight with layovers (my stomach would never allow it.... aka I'm a tad bit anal) and lastly, I used my MOH, BM & new Big brother and Aunt to help take 4 bags. However; the bags that were given to them were all OOT related because in my mind if anything got lost it would not be Decor (all that jazz came with us ;-) also this kept our bags fees reasonable.

Hope this helps

OMG!!! I'm sooo inspired by your thread and planning!!!! You did such a beautiful job... I know your wedding was beautiful and you were a beautiful bride. There is soo much stuff on here for inspiration and it's encouraging to know that you pulled this off without tons of help because I'm in the same boat. I have so many ideas with 8 months left to go, and practically no help. So you just encouraged me soo much to keep on moving.. Thanks!!!

Shay, thank you so much for the compliments. We truly had the wedding of a lifetime and it didn't cost a whole lot of body parts :/) My ladies were all over the globe so I couldn't even bring myself to ask them to spend even more $$ than what they were already doing. In addition, I didn't want to be a bridezilla because of time constraints. Focus on what you and FI want, get your tools together, good music and libations and you got it!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
