HI ladies congrats to you both!!

I am getting married this Dec and I am using a planner and she has been great! If you would like more info on her please PM me.

Otherwise take your time and pace yourselves. Before you know it things will start coming up and you will have decisions to make so go dress shopping and look at different things so you dont do it all last minute because then it can get overwhelming and frustrating.

Good luck!

Hello PPR Brides!

I am so anxious b/c my date is so close and my planner is due soon! I have a few questions (please keep in mind that I am trying control the cost at this point):

1. What information are you including in your welcome bags? Are you also including gifts or favors? I was thinking of adding an info sheet (with information to be determined), a favorite DR snack, maybe a map, and a personalized plastic cup. I can't think of anything else. Cheesy?

2. Are you having a rehearsal dinner? If so, where?

3. For 26 people, should I hire a DJ? If no DJ, should I hire an MC?

4. Is anyone hiring a videographer? If so, who are you using? Is anyone also streaming their wedding for guests who can't attend?

5. Is anyone using an outside stylist for hair or make-up?

Thanks for your help!

My FI mother would like use to register for gifts becasue a lot of their family is not joining us in the DR.  We feel a little awkward about having a registry do to our decision of having a destination wedding. Does anyone have any suggestions on who we should we word it on our wedding website without sounding greedy?

Hi Ladies,

I know some of your big day is fast approaching!  I don't know about you guys but I am getting super excited as well as overwhelmed.

I had my planning call last week.  It went really well we covered a lot.   Lots of food choices on the buffet menu with swaps allowed within reason. I have been finishing up my Message in  a Bottle invites....the DIY from hell!  so I hadn't done that much else.  We are doing the chill out chic package...was wondering what kind of pricing you got for centerpieces.... everything adds up so quickly.  We chose that package partially because we loved the decor and didn't want to have to add much!  Anybody renting the bridal suite? I have a small party and not sure if it was worth it.....  We are staying in the reserve so the suites are large.... I figured I could send my fiance and his son to get ready with my dad and nephew...  Also, what is everyone doing in regards to music for cocktail hour?  Bianca suggested having cocktail hour in the same location as reception so we could add the DJ for an hour, or use an ipod for the cocktail hour.  Would an ipod be cheesy for the cocktail hour.....i think if we did a good mix ahead of time it would be fine probably...

Plus we have a little situation....my sister who is my maid of honor is pregnant, her obgyn said it was fine to fly....she will be about 7 months in july!  Only thing is she got put on bedrest for some issues last week....  I don't know if she will be able to come with her husband and my niece and nephew who are in the bridal party as well..  ahhh the stressors of a destination wedding.... I have seen some of you are going thru issues as well!  We are trying to stay positive!  The baby and my sisters health is most important!!!!

Oh and congrats to all the new brides to be just starting their planning!

in regards to registering..... We felt funny at first but we have a lot of family who are not attending and my mom still thru me a bridal shower, especially for people who couldn't afford to attend the wedding, she thought it was a nice way for them to be included in some of the festivities!  We registered for a mix of things to update our home since we live together already and we were careful on prices.  Since some people are traveling for the wedding we didn't want to go crazy with big price items.  Pretty much there was something at every price point!

Hope that helps!

we are doing oot bags too and it is all adding up to a lot of space!  I am trying to keep it very simple though as far as having to do last minute things when we get there!  I want to enjoy my time and RELAX before the wedding...lol

Good Luck with everything Erica...omg your day is less than a week away!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
