oh kool we should swap info because to be honest I find it super confusing at times LOL I am pretty new to this site however its helped so much to read I spent like a WHOLE day reading these post. I

Estella is ok she is prompt but I find she litterary copies and pastes from some stuff on the website. I asked her what they meant by "mexican decor" she sent me a picture from the website LOL still didnt really answer my question. Are you using the photograper from the resort I just emailed her to see if we can see some of their work but doesnt seem like the resorts isnt anything special. Sorry to pick your brain.

I really hope they let us pick more than one entree lol

Hey gs38....I joined in on this thread about 3 weeks ago and I too read EVERY POST!!!  LOL....glad I did b/c it has helped a lot.  And you're right, Estella is just okay.  Her English isn't all that great (or her writing).  But as long as we get all our facts straight and like some of the other girls have advised, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!!!

I was planning to pretty much get everything that the resort offers so that it would be easier to plan and not to have to pay the $350 vendor fee.  I was going to go with the photographer onsite, but I still need to ask about prices/packages and see what the work/photos are like.  Although, after reading this thread, including your post, I'm starting to think that I might have to research outside photographers and bite the bullet on the $350 fee.  Photos are the one big ADD-ON that we want and I think that might be the one big feature I would spend money on.  I just hope it's not crazy expensive and hope my fiance will be okay with paying extra.....LET THE CONVINCING BEGIN!

I'm going to ask Estella about the photographers this week.  Please, if you don't mind, let me know what else you find out about the resort photographer and what you end up doing.  When is your wedding BTW?

Hi everyone!  I posted this once before but got no response.  So I'll ask again.

Are any of you girls using the resort photographer for you wedding?  Or have you heard any feedback from previous brides that did use in-house photographers?  It almost seems like everyone is using an outside vendor for this, which is probably why I haven't gotten a response, lol.

For those using outside vendors for photos, what do you suggests?  Did you have an easy experience booking?  Thx!

Hey mariposa6102,

We are using an outside vendor. Reading through the posts, what little I could find on the photographers on the resort wasn't all that good.....from what I read....and pictures are the one thing that you do look back at years later. So we decided not to risk it and booked Samuel Luna. I found his prices to be reasonable, I love his work, he was great at getting back to us, his English was fluent and he was super easy to book.

There are lots of photographers for the Cancun area though, with great reviews.....so you'll have lots to choose from if you decide to take that route.

Good Luck!

We are also using an outside photographer, Sascha Gluck. He is the only outside vendor we are using. I learned a lesson with my engagement photos that you get what you pay for! I think there were some reviews of the resort photographer in the review section of this website. Or samples of his work... I'm sure I've seen something and if I find it again I'll post it for you.

My FI's cousin is out photographer. They are not charging the outside vendor fee since he is staying with us for the week so they waived that. I thought it was ridiculous if they were going to charge the $350. He is afterall a guest and they are charging his meal as the guest price!

Thanks a lot!  Photos are definitely something I would fork out money for.  Could I ask you (if u don't mind), roughly how much does Samuel Luna charge?

Thanks a lot!  Yes, please post if you do find samples.  Love to see them so I can have somewhat of an idea.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
