@@hapykat @@Giocivs88 - We are the ones doing the fire and percussion show! It's $1260 for 45 minutes. We are also hiring a DJ - using the resorts preferred vendor DJ Mannia. Jessica recommended the fire show after cocktail hour or after dinner, so that we could go straight into dancing for the rest of the night. We haven't decided when we are having it yet.

@giocvs88 we aren't getting a dj after all. I think the fire show will have more impact. Assuming it starts after dinner the show would finish around 9:45 and the dj would only be hired til 11 so for an hour of mixing that seems a bit nuts to us. We will make playlists for the dinner time and our bride and groom dance etc

@@Giocivs88 - The DJ is $1300 for four hours and that includes during dinner time. No, you do not pay an outside vendor fee for any of the "preferred" vendors that the resort works with. DJ Mannia is a preferred vendor. We hired an outside photographer, and we will have to pay the extra $500 for that.

If you ask Jessica, she should send you a price sheet for extras such as the DJ, fire show, other live musicians, etc.

@@hapykat - I totally understand your perspective when it comes to the DJ and how much it costs. For us, at the end of the day, we just don't want to have to worry about anything. Also, the DJ will play music during dinner and provide added ambiance with lighting. When we met with Jessica she told us the day would roughly go as follows:

5pm - Ceremony (about 15-20 minutes)

5:20 - Break for some photos

5:45 - 6:45pm - Cocktail hour

6:45pm - 7:30pm - Fire show

7:30 - 9pm - Dinner

9 - 11pm - Dancing

Again, we could change the fire show to after dinner but I think it might flow better for us to go before. I feel like with that schedule we are still getting some good use out of the DJ, including during dinner.

We are not having a DJ either, unfortunately our ceremony won't start till 6:30, so everything got pushed back.  We just plan to go to the disco with everyone after dinner.  Since its a small group we figured that way, guests won't feel obligated to stay and we won't feel like we had to shell out money for a DJ that didn't get used to much.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
