NOW LARIMAR BRIDES

Hey everyone!

I'm in between this resort and Paradisus Punta Cana for the week of April 28/15! We will have a group of 50-60 people from Nova Scotia, CA... I keep going back and forth between these 2 resorts from day to day, but our quotes expire next week so we need to choose...

How have your experiences been so far for those that have booked/or had their wedding? Planning on the Divine package.

Thanks for any help!

Dana

Hey Now Larimar brides!!

I am getting married on April 23rd 2015 and so excited about doing it at this resort!. I am also undecided about the full fountain set up or walking beside it. Does anyone live around Ottawa and know of any cheap decoration shops?. or cheap online ones?

Also, is anyone sending out formal invites??

Can't wait to be going through this with all of yous!. looking forward to seeing pics ect.:)

Does anyone know - regardless of ceremony, you have to be at the site 3 business days before to get married... Is that 3 full days? (If we flew in on a Tuesday, would we get married the Friday or Saturday?)... Have emailed but thought someone might know?

Thanks!

Hi Everyone!

I'm getting married at the Now Larimar on Jan 19,2015!!! I havent picked my locations yet becasue im a little bit torn. My time for the ceremony is 5:00 and im a little bit worried that we wont have enough time for pictures before the sun goes down. I dont want to see my fiance before our ceremony either. Just wondering if other brides had this problem. Also i'm not sure if we should have a wedding ceremony on the beach and reception by the pool or our ceremony by the fountains and our reception on the beach. So many decicsons! Any information on why you picked your spot would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!!!

@@DominicanBride2015 Congrats on the upcoming wedding! This site has been so helpful in wedding planning! Just to give my input, I chose to have my ceremony at the Fountain instead of the beach because I wanted to be outside but have an intimate and private setting; I didn't want someone wandering by half naked in the middle of my ceremony and pictures! LOL. My wedding is at 4pm and I chose that time to make sure of enough daylight and time for pics (my reception starts at 7pm). I'd check what the average weather is like during January too; if it's super windy you could consider other reception venues besides the beach (i.e. Eclipse Nightclub is half open but covered, renting a restaurant or a ballroom with A/C). I know it's a lot to take in and we've all been there! Hope this helps!

@@Jolisa2015 Congrats to you and welcome to the forum! I am personally sending out formal invites (even though I basically have a rooming list of who's all coming). My invitation are beachy and fun though; I ordered them from magnetstreet.com and I have a starfish theme. My fiance and I decided to send out the invites as kind of a "reminder" to our guests about the deadline to book and pay for rooms. Plus we are having a local reception about a month after we get back, so we need a RSVP for how many people are coming to that! Hope this helps!

@@MrandMrsBonitto2016 I picked the ballroom for my reception. It's air conditioned. LOL. And private. I'd considered the nightclub, but it was confirmed that the latest our reception could last was until 9:30pm since it opens for guests around 10:30pm. And I didn't want to pay extra to rent out a restaurant location. PLUS we now have close to 80 people going, so reserving a "spot" in another restaurant was not ideal. If, and only if, the weather is not steamy in August (which I doubt!), I would consider a beach or poolside reception. Then again my party may be too big for those locations!

WOW 80 people!!!! If you don't mind my asking, how much did the extra guest cost you? I plan to have 45-50 and I know you have to pay for each additional guest over 25.

If at all possible, having the ceremony even half an hour earlier will give you a little bit more time for photos.  If not, don't worry, I'm sure your photographer will do a great job, you can have some amazing shots right when the sun sets.  If you really want some daytime photos on the beach, it might be a great idea to book another session (or combine with trash the dress if you would like to do that) another day.  Otherwise, check with your photographer, I'm sure they will do their best to capture some beautiful moments for you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
