The new Paradisus Playa del Carmen (La Perla and La Esmeralda)

Recommended Posts

Jenna, Thanks for the reminder!  Totally forgot to include that little detail! Basically we were doing our tour with Myrna from the Romance office and when we walked to the bridge we noticed a SIGN at the end of the bridge in the sand (about 8 feet from the edge of the bridge) that essentially is just showing that La Perla is in one direction and Esmerelda in the other.  It definitely would show in pics, which we didnt want, so we asked her about it.  She said it's new and it wasn't there the day before, but that they would find some may to make sure it didn't show.  We kind of messed with it to see if it would be removable and I don't think it is, but I guess they'll have to cover it or something, I'm not sure.  It was kind of a bummer, but not the end of the world I guess. Here's a pic: LL Also, see the wood on the bridge, your heels (if you are wearing them) can get stuck in between the boards!  Of course I think most of us will have runner so not the biggest risk or taking a tumble walking down the aisle, but if you walk off the runner you need to be careful!  I got my heel stuck on the way to dinner on another part or the boardwalk and it was NOT fun!  So just be aware of that. Other than that, things are good.  We're going to do our welcome dinner at one of the restaurants (either Mole or Bana we think) and I finally got my dress! :pinkie: Hope everyone's having a fun time planning! -Anisha
Congrats on getting your dress! Thanks for letting us know about the sign, not a deal breaker but something to keep in mind! You've been so helpful, thank you!

Sorry ladies I have been MIA....just been crazy busy with work...I am catching up to previous posts and read the one about that sign...that is def new b.c it was not their about 2 months ago...I am going back out in November and will ask the planner about this.. Also I would think you def need the runner bc the closer the deck is to the sand , the more washed out the deck looks.... I actually sent out my save the dates last month..now I just have to sit back and hope people book soon...how is everyone else doing with guest responses/ bookings?

Hey Rola! Long time no see;). Post a pic of your save the dates, I know they're beautiful! As for the aisle runner (I'll be taking your advice about the bridge), we're going to have a monogram one made here and bring it to the hotel. We have 27 people booked so far (including myself and the groom). We're waiting to receive our invitations from the designer, and we're sending them out towards the end of November. Hope all else is well ladies!;) P.S. Is anyone else starting to see their friends/families 'true colors' now that its time to put some money where their mouth is (pay deposits/book, etc.)?

I just got an update from my travel agent today that so far we have 15 people booked! We are expecting another 10-15 to jump on board. I have heard grief from a few family members and I was annoyed at first and then realized I can't them add stress to an almost seamless planning experience! If they can come great!......if they can't, that ok we will see you at the AHR! We sent out our invites a couple weeks ago.....here's the link if you want to check them out: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/81883/my-diy-passport-invites-with-rsvp-boarding-pass-lost-of-pics

Hi, yes I have to take photos of the save the dates...people loved it!! Even men commented on them..lol I will have to post pics soon In regards to guests...you really can't stress about that. I have to admit I do stress out over it (not going to lie)then I just think about how amazing the day will be and since my closets family will be their ..I'm ok with others not being their. A lot of people told me it was too expensive and they just cant afford it at the time. We are in a terrible Economy , so I can't blame anyone...I do see how you feel, you just have to not let it get to you. Im sort of happy that no one is on this forum..lol only bc if their were a ton of brides the resort will turn into a wedding factor ( like most all inclusive hotels) . In regards to salon prices..they are not that bad..I remember hair and makeup were about 75 each?? I could be wrong..brides are def more. Not going to lie..hair and makeup is def something I am still worried about...what can you do

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
