Hello, All I am sort of new to the website. I am rarely on here, but I know this is a good website to use because I know a lot of ladies are really helpful. I really need some help because I am stuck in a way. My wedding is December of next year but I just signed a group contract for Beaches Sandy Bay and I found out that the reception options that they offer are a little pricey. :-(  I was wondering from any past and present brides what options have you chose and or alternatives? What vendors are you using as far as a DJ etc.? I just don't exactly how to stretch my money so to speak as far this wedding goes. So some help would be greatly appreciated from any ladies. Thanks. :-)

Welcome!  Try searching for that specific resort and you should be able to find some past present or future brides who can answer your questions better!  happy planning:)

Thanks Jaykay, but Unfortunately no one seems to respond to the post on my resort. :-(

I hope this isnt too upsetting but you do know that you can NOT bring vendors onto the Beaches property right?  Its their way of keeping their money in their pockets.  Depending on how many people you have you can try to make reservations at one of the Beaches SB or Negril resort restaurants for the "reception dinner"; you wont be able to personalize the room or tables though.  I can tell you that the staff at SB is typically very accommodating since they are at a "smaller" resort but I am sure they wont be able to pull a ton of strings for personalization.

You can apparently bring an ipod and they have a ipod station to put it on; I am "splurging" on the ONE steel drum player for $250/hr instead of the steel drum band.

I am going to try and talk to my WC to see if I can swing just getting a bar set up and some tables for a cheaper price and skip the meal part so we can drink and all go to a later dinner together at one of the "free" on site restaurants.

Oh no not at all. I already knew that was their rule. We are going to use the resort's DJ. I have asked other brides and apparently he is pretty good. I am not sure how many people are attending just yet so I am not sure what we will do about reception options. I just think its BS that we have to pay 50.00per person to have a sit down meal at an all inclusive resort. My Destination wedding specialist explained that it is for the service, so at this point we are looking at the cocktail reception that is included.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
