Has anyone purchased their wedding dress online?

Recommended Posts

I am also looking at this. I want a short wedding dress and it just seems like theres more variety online than in the wedding dressses.  I'm nervous tho because I'm not sure if it will fit right or if I'll like the material and such.  Let me know what you decide and Ill do the same. My weddings fast approaching so I need to make a decision soon.

This is what I did. I fell in love with a maggie dress here in Canada then I went online and found a bridal store in Pennsylvania that was selling their sample for 1/3 of the price. I was soooooo nervous because:

1. It's a sample and I wouldn't able see the condition of the dress til it got here, but the owner assured me that it was in good condition.

2. They asked for my CC info over email... and I gave it! In hindsight, I would have called them and given it over the phone but I just couldn't wait to get my dress.

It came a few weeks later and it is as perfect as can be. The owner was amazing to deal with and I'm so happy I got my dream dress for a fraction of the price. If you're getting it from a real online store that does online sales, I wouldn't be too worried. Best is try to find some reviews on the particular store and see what other people had to say.

Here is where I bought mine http://diamondsandlacebridal.com/monthly-sample-sale/

For anyone else interested in buying samples, they have a list of samples they are selling and update this regularly. Mine is the RD1044 at the top of the list that is now crossed out :D

Good luck!

This site here is selling dresses for next to nothing and it just seems to good to be true!

The dresses on dhgates are knockoffs. Take a look at the knock off thread in the dress forums to get an idea of what you can get.

The dresses will never be exactly the same as the original but the prices are great and you can end up really happy with your dress if you understand what you're getting into. :)

I ordered mine through Netbride.  It was about $300 cheaper than a bridal salon here, but still a designer original.  It should be in tomorrow, but they were good to deal with.  Also offered free shipping and a credit on shoes/veils/favors!

Just email them for a quote and they give you all the details.

I'm pretty much stuck with buying mine online, since no stores around here carry what I want. Though, good idea would be to go and see if you can try on any other dress by the same designer, as sizing and fit is usually the same for all of the dresses by the same designer.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
