Hi kd and jen,

I am getting married at Secrets Capri on December 17, 2011. After having a lot of issues with the resort we originally chose, Now Jade, we quickly had to find another resort to switch to. I've had family visit Secrets Capri before and they had nothing but good thing to say about the resort. The prices of Secrets Capri and Silversands are comparable, but Capri gets much better reviews (check them out on Trip Advisor). So far the wedding coordinator at Capri, Martina, has been a pleasure to work with. She replies to emails VERY quickly, she's extremely friendly, and she speaks perfect English, so I have no fear of miscommunication....which was a major problem we had with Now Jade. I hope this helps!

I guess it narrows down to what you're looking for in your resort. I also went through tripadvisor and many people quoted about the quality of beach at Silversands. Some said that no one went into the beach but if you wanted to, could walk a couple minutes for nicer condition. There wasn't much difference in price so we chose Capri, where people could go in the beach. We're getting married there October 10th 2011 and Martina has been very helpful. Can't wait to be there!

I did a site visit to Secrets Silversands in May 2011 but have not visited Capri.  Silversands was nice as far as the rooms, food, etc. but the beach was a turn off. I"m not a big beach person so it did  not bother me to not go into the water.  Thats why beach on the Cancun Hotel zone better.   But the food was amazing!

I was in a wedding at Secrets Capri last month and it was lovely. My best friend got married there and everything went off without a hitch. She had her ceremony on the grass beside the gazebo and her reception in the beach side restaurant. Here ceremony started at 5, if you are looking or a more private wedding I would suggest doing that time as well. We saw other weddings while we were there and the ones in the afternoon tended to have more people watching from the pool, etc. The only thing she would have changed is skipping the DJ and just using an ipod (since he pretty much just played their list anyway)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
